Abstract

In designing learning strategy, a lecturer should pay attention to input characteristics, such as students’ learning style, motivation, and other factors. Therefore, it is important for a lecturer to know his teaching style so that there is no gap between lecturer and his students. Students should also know their learning style in order to choose the most effective learning method for them. The objective of this research was to know the impact of students’ learning style towards their study achievement on the subject of general biology. Population of the research were that all the students of semester I  2009/2010 of biology education program, and total of the samples were 31 students. Instruments used to gathering the data were observation, questionnaire, and documentation. It used SPSS to analyze the data. The research result showed that students’ learning style belonged to visual type. Learning style was influential to students’ study achievement on statictic p-value 0.000 (  < 0.05) and t statistic value for independent variable was 8.850 on concrete degree 5%. Type of the regression was Y = 18,292 + 0,892X. The result of statistical validation test F showed the p-value 0.000 ( < 0.05) and determination coefficient or R square was 0.73, and it meant that 73% of the students’ study result were influenced by their learning style. Abstract

This study aims to find out and prove whether there is an influence of the project-based Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on the scientific literacy abilities of biology education students at Cenderawasih University, Jayapura. If there is, then the results will be used as a comparison with conventional learning models that are applied as usual. The research was conducted against a background of problems in the form of preliminary observations which saw that learning was only centered on the lecturer, so it was not effective and concluded that this also affected students' scientific literacy skills. This study uses a quantitative approach, which uses descriptive statistics to explain test results as well as observation and parametric inferential statistics using SPSS Version 27 which consists of normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T Test. In the final test results, the results of the t test were obtained, where 7,114 > 2,024 and a significance of 0.001 <0.05, then H0 is DENIED, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the project-based CTL learning model on student scientific literacy Biology Education, Cenderawasih University Jayapura (Ha).AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan membuktikan apakah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbasis proyek terhadap kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa pendidikan biologi di Universitas Cenderawasih jayapura. Jika ada, maka hasilnya akan dijadikan pembanding dengan model pembelajaran konvensional yang diterapkan seperti biasa. Penelitian dilakukan dengan latar belakang masalah berupa hasil pengamatan awal yang melihat pembelajaran hanya berpusat kepada dosen, sehingga tidak efektif dan menyimpulkan bahwa hal tersebut juga berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi sains mahasiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dimana menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk penjelasan hasil tes serta observasi dan statistik inferensial parametrik menggunakan SPSS Versi 27 yang terdiri atas uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis menggunakan Independen Sample T Test. Pada hasil pengujian akhir yaitu uji hipotesis yang menggunakan Independen Sample T Test, didapatkan hasil pengujian t, dimana 7.114 > 2.024 dan signifikasi 0,001 < 0,05, maka H0 DITOLAK, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran CTL berbasis proyek terhadap literasi sains mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi, Universitas Cenderawasih Jayapura (Ha).

Abstract

Complex sociocultural challenges and ethnic heterogeneity in the vocational high school environment in Papua often trigger the emergence of violence between students. This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of multicultural leadership of the principal to prevent violence at SMKS YPK TIK Serui, Yapen Islands Regency. The focus of the study includes the development of democratic attitudes, internalization of the diversity paradigm, enforcement of anti-discrimination principles, and development of gender sensitivity. The research method used is a mixed method explanatory sequential design through the distribution of questionnaires to fifty student respondents and interviews with nine key informants. Quantitative findings show that multicultural leadership indicators are in the moderate category, with an anti-discrimination score of 66.91%, diversity paradigm 63.20%, gender sensitivity 62.80%, and democratic attitudes 58.60%. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of Papuan local wisdom, namely Three Stones One Furnace, into the school managerial system. Supporting factors include foundation support, while obstacles include the influence of alcohol. As a result, physical violence was successfully reduced by 62.7%, but a new challenge emerged in the form of digital violence, which increased by 67%. The study's conclusions confirm that multicultural leadership based on restorative justice is highly effective in significantly reducing physical aggression. However, educational institutions need to strengthen systemic multicultural digital literacy strategies to address the increasingly complex dynamics of violence in the digital era and to create sustainable school harmony. ABSTRAK Tantangan sosiokultural dan heterogenitas etnis yang kompleks di lingkungan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan wilayah Papua sering kali memicu munculnya fenomena kekerasan antarsiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam penerapan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berwawasan multikultural guna mencegah kekerasan di SMKS YPK TIK Serui, Kabupaten Kepulauan Yapen. Fokus kajian meliputi pembangunan sikap demokratis, internalisasi paradigma keragaman, penegakan prinsip anti-diskriminasi, serta pengembangan sensitivitas gender. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran desain sekuensial eksplanatori melalui penyebaran angket kepada lima puluh responden siswa dan wawancara sembilan informan kunci. Temuan kuantitatif menunjukkan indikator kepemimpinan multikultural berada pada kategori sedang, dengan skor anti-diskriminasi 66,91%, paradigma keragaman 63,20%, sensitivitas gender 62,80%, serta sikap demokratis 58,60%. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi kearifan lokal Papua yakni Tiga Batu Satu Tungku ke dalam sistem manajerial sekolah. Faktor pendukung melibatkan dukungan yayasan, sementara hambatan mencakup pengaruh minuman keras. Dampaknya, kekerasan fisik berhasil ditekan hingga tingkat 62,7%, namun muncul tantangan baru berupa kekerasan digital sebesar 67%. Simpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan multikultural berbasis keadilan restoratif sangat efektif dalam mereduksi agresi fisik secara signifikan, akan tetapi institusi pendidikan memerlukan penguatan strategi literasi digital multikultural yang sistemik untuk menghadapi dinamika kekerasan di era digital yang semakin kompleks demi terciptanya harmonisasi sekolah secara berkesinambungan.
