Abstract

Kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix DC.) Is an alternative for skin and hair care. This study aims to make an anti-dandruff shampoo from skin extracts and kaffir lime juice with various concentrations. The extract was made by maceration using ethyl acetate as a solvent with 20, 30 and 40% concentrations, respectively. The resulting extract is used as an active ingredient in the anti-dandruff shampoo formula. The research that resulted from anti ketomber shampoo from kaffir lime juice extract with a concentration of 20%, 30% and 40% includes specific weight (g / mL) 1.1213 ± 0.08, 1.0612 ± 0.01 and 1.1064 ± 0.04; foam height (cm) 8.00 ± 0.00, 7.97 ± 0.06 and 8.00 ± 0.00; pH 5.27 ± 0.02, 5.27 ± 0.02 and 5.69 ± 0.00; viscosity (Ns / m2) 35.00 ± 0.46, 24.05 ± 0.00 and 28.85 ± 0.00; water content 82.58, 82.52 and 83.91. All shampoo formulas showed very strong anti-dandruff activity to M.furfur and P.ovale (inhibition zone 35.67 ± 0.58 mm), but still lower than the inhibition zone of chemical-commercial shampoos (p <0.05). The lime juice shampoo formula was preferred by 34 panelists (p <0.05) in the hedonic test. also shows that all shampoo formulas have met the requirements based on the Indonesian National Standard.

Abstract

Secang wood (Caesalpinia sappan L.), gambier (Uncaria gambir Robx.) and areca seed (Arecha catechu L.) are alternatives that are used as natural dyes in food and beverages. This research aims to develop extracts of secang wood, gambier and areca seeds as natural dyes in cosmetic preparations. The manufacture is done by making a thick extrack of secang wood, gambier and areca seeds using solvent etanol 96 %. The resulting viscous exctract was evaluated by colour test using by cromameter. The reseach produced secang wood dyes with a volue of 0HUE 23,30±0,100 (red), gambier 338±0,116 (purple) and areca seeds 337,03±1,497 (purple), while the 0HUE value of the combination of thick extracts of secang-gambier 344,03±0,346 (purple red), secang-areca 10,27±0,208 (purple red) and secang-gambier-areca 6,49±0,150 (purple red). Keywords : secang wood, gambier, areca seeds.

Abstract

Areca nut (Areca catechu L.) is a natural dye as a substitute for synthetic dyes which are less safe for skin health. This study aims to make a semi-solid form of lip color cosmetic preparations with several concentrations. Extracts was made by soaking the powder using 96% ethanol. The results of this reseach is that the lip color has a vanilla smell, soft and homogeneous texture, visually brown color, pH 6.00 to 6.50. Melting point between 41 – 440C Color release test or smear test for a 40% concentration formula shows a good and homogeneous color. Chemical test results using a chromameter formula 20% 0HUE 34.87 (red), 30% 23.10 (red) and 40% 15.03 (purple red)

Abstract

Terbinafine hydrochloride is a synthetic allylamine drug with a broad spectrum of antifungal properties. The purpose of this study was to identify terbinafine hydrochloride in whitening cosmetic products using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The first stage starts with dissolving cosmetic samples (A, B, C) and blanks, diluted with 25 ml of methanol. Then the solution was vortexed for 2 and centrifuged for 10 minutes at 4000 rpm. The supernatant layer formed was filtered through a 0.45 m membrane filter. Then the filtrate obtained was tested by the HPLC method. Based on the results of the system suitability test of the sample and blank, the concentration was 16????????/ml, the average retention time was 8.934 minutes and the average area was 2163340. The standard deviation of the relative retention time was 0.3098% and the area was 0.0721%. The follow-up factor and theoretical plate obtained automatically from the HPLC tool obtained an average follow-up factor value of 0.9515 and an average theoretical plate value of 217.7531. The results of the HPLC system suitability test and the terbinafine hydrochloride blank were identical, but the retention time was different, obtained from each different sample. All cosmetic samples contained Terbinafine hydrochloride as they did not meet the requirements. Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2021.

Abstract

Solid bath soap is a cosmetic preparation to remove dirt from skin surfaces. Kaffir lime peel is a good natural ingredient for skin health. The aim of this study was to produce cosmetic preparation of solid bath soap from a thick extract kaffir lime peel with several concentrations. The thick extract of kaffir lime peel is made by maceration by dissolving 500 grams of powder with 96 % ethanol as solvent as much as 1,000 mL for 2x24 hours and concentrated using a rotary evaporator at 500 C. the method used in soap making is cold processing. The result of the study was a solid bath soap, smelling of fresh orange, bluish color to turquoise blue depends on the concentration of the active substance of kaffir lime extract, soft texture and homogeneous color, Formula 1 with concentration of kaffir lime peel extract of 1 % has pH 10.0, foam height of 5.0 cm, water content was 1.76% and free fatty acids was 2.51%. Formula 2 with concentration was kaffir lime peel extract of 3 % value pH 10.0, foam height of 5.0 Cm, moisture content of 1.95 % and free fatty acids was 2.51 % while formula 3 with an extract of 5 % has a pH 10.0 foam height was 5.0 cm, water content was 0.73 % and free fatty acid was 2.51 %. Solid bath soap with thick extract off kaffir lime peel meets the requirements of SNI number 3532 of 2016 for pH, and moisture content tests while the free fatty acid test does not meet these requirements of SNI
