Abstract

--------------Currently, Islamic preaching seems mostly dealing with the problems of Muslims’ prays and rituals. Whereas, the problem faced by most Muslims today are more complicated if this fact is explored farther. Therefore, the need for an alternative preaching (dakwah) to tackle the environmental degaradation is crutial. Based on this fact, Islamic reaching is expected to be able to be an alternative medium to alert Muslim about how important the natural conservation and environmental preservation are. It becomes a manifestation of the human leadership (khalifah) and a quarantee of human’s life in this world.

Abstract

Da'wah is basically a social activity that allows people to meet with various social backgrounds in it. Because of its nature as a social activity, plurality becomes a necessity in da'wah. Nevertheless, pluralism as a reality sometimes becomes a problem in society. This article aims to describe the problem between da'wah and pluralism with the subject of the meaning of pluralism, its reality in the history of Islamic da'wah, and the attitude that must be developed in responding to it. The study showed that pluralism is generally interpreted as diversity in various aspects of life, including religion, which is believed to originate from one source even though this causes controversy. Historically Islam recognized the reality of religious pluralism. This fact shows that in Islam differences of belief are not obstacles to managing social life together as a form of acceptance of religious pluralism. Some attitudes that must be developed to be able to accept the reality of religious pluralism in daily life include interfaith dialogue, conducting "passing over" and "coming back" activities, or making efforts to increase multiculturalism insight to all elements of society. All of this can be done through the Islamic da’wah, with its various approaches, has become a massive Islamic religious social movement and is able to reach all aspects of Islamic society life.

Abstract

Hoax is a human problem in this era of information. The presence of hoaxes causes information consumers to find it difficult to distinguish between true or false information, especially those that spread on social media. The main problem in this research is how hoaxes can threaten religious moderation in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze how hoax information on social media threatens the moderation of Islam in Indonesia. This research uses the library research method. The data were obtained from relevant library data sources and analyzed using a qualitative approach. The findings show that many hoaxes are conveyed along with religious and political information. Hoax on the political aspect aims to bring down political opponents or the government. In the religious aspect, hoaxes are used to attack opposing religious beliefs or schools. Hoaxes on these two aspects, especially religion, have the potential to divide people and destroy religious moderation in society. This research is expected to contribute to the study of communication, especially media and information.
