Abstract

Ngaben ceremony is tradition of Balinese people that has art and culture aspect as one tourism destination aspect helps the development of tourism in Bali. Ngaben ceremony which is part of Pitra Yadnya and based on Pitra Rna (owing the ancestor) is commonly defined as a funeral ceremony. Ngaben ceremony as a traditional culture that contains element of art has become a tourisms spectacle object for the tourist, besides as a ritual can be said as a tradition that remains being preserved until now. Custom, art and culture from the implementation of Ngaben ceremony can spur local attraction as a spectacle for both local and foreign tourist. However, Ngaben ceremony always connotes extravagance, because without big cost, often Ngaben cannot be done. Therefore, not few people who do Ngaben ceremony within a long time after the death. Ngaben ceremony is often simplified with the goal of the Ngaben ceremony is still reached. Observing the current development in society, the people preferably use uncomplicated technique that is crematorium as means of contestation. Society contestation through ceremony without preserving tradition, culture, art and customary ritual preservation, precisely provides a convenience for the existence of crematorium. Without we realize the desire and the purpose of society to show our life pattern through certain ceremonies tend to lead to consumptive society even hedonic, where with the existence of crematorium does not reduce the significance of the rituals, traditions, customs, cultures, and arts.Keywords: Contestation, Ngaben, Tourism

Abstract

The Transcendental Mediation technique is an easy, natural and effortless process, which allows the consciousness to experience the realm of the mind from a subtler and more subtle level so that the thought process is transcended and awareness is directly connected to the source of the thought. Transcendental Meditation ethics in meditation practice include: 1) not related to place, as long as it is not disturbed, 2) not recommended in a sleeping position, 3) without contemplation, 4) without concentration, 5) without physical exercise, 6) no change in way life, such as dressing must be special, with Transcendental Mediation able to build harmonious relationships between school members. Transcendental Mediation is able to anticipate behavioral deviations. It has been proven that students who take part in Transcendental Mediation have good character. Transcendental Mediation is able to strengthen the religious foundation of students. Keywords: Transcendental Mediation

Abstract

Cerita Rakyat Bali (Satua). Satua adalah cerita rakyat yang di wariskan secara turun-temurun. Satua merupakan karya sastra lisan yang dapat dengan mudah oleh anak-anak karena nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalamnya, Satua memiliki peran dan fungsi penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat serta memberikan hiburan yang bertujuan untuk mengisi waktu luang dan menyampaikan berbagai nilai kehidupan termasuk pesan agama dan moral melalui karakter dan dialog. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai kepribadian Pan Angklung Gadang sebagai sumber pendidikan karakter. Teknik analisis penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yang menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini adalah Kumpulan Satua Bali karya Suwija Bali 2019. Dalam penelitian, pengumpulan data dimulai dengan mengamati subjek. Kemudian membaca teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang dan kisah lengkapnya. Langkah terakhir untuk mencatat informasi yang diterima. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dalam tiga, translasi, klasifikasi dan analisis struktur menggunakan teknik hermeneutik. Hasil analisis pada satua Pan Angklung Gadang diperoleh terdapat sembilan pendidikan karakter dalam yakni, nilai-nilai agama, kejujuran, toleransi, disiplin, kreativitas, demokrasi, rasa ingin tahu, komunikasi dan tanggung jawab. Nilai-nilai ini bersifat universal dan karenanya dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber pendidikan karakter.
