Abstract

The Graphics Industry is an industry that designs, develops, makes, and introduces products that contain or are related to sentences and or images to realize information, ideas and feelings. The product is used for the purposes of learning, entertainment, motivating, commercial, and so on. The graphics industry in Indonesia continues to experience improvement by continuing to make improvements both in producing quality graphic products with the times without reducing the essence of the graphics itself, namely the media for delivering printed information to be presented to the public and in processing waste. The graphics production process is divided into three stages, namely preprint, print and post print. PT. Gramedia Printing Cikarang Plant, as one of the major graphics companies in Indonesia, feels the need to create a working line and system, including providing special services that are separate from other print production flows so that the product prints are perfect, namely printing services for the Al-Qur'an manuscripts. . In the flow of the printing of the Al-Qur'an manuscripts, the treatment is not arbitrary, even up to the handling of the waste. Writing this final project aims to determine whether the application of waste processing resulting from the printing of the Al-Quran is in accordance with Islamic principles and rules of occupational safety and health. Keywords: Waste, Occupational Safety and health, Printing of Al-qur'an

Abstract

Efficiency is a measure of success that is assessed in terms of the size of the source / cost and the length of time production takes to achieve the results of the activities carried out. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the efficiency of using machines to speed up printing time and the factors that affect production time as well as obstacles or problems at PT. Macananjaya Cemerlang, which makes production time inefficient. The writing method used is the descriptive method seen based on the use of literature as outlined in the referenced literature (bibliography), the method of field observation is direct observation by searching for accurate data during Industrial Practices. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that there are several problems that make the production time late than what has been scheduled due to various factors, especially in the selection of machines to streamline production time. Abstract

In-depth observations have been made on the printing process using the Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 machine. In this process, the ink unit becomes the biggest concern because of its role in the quality of the printout. Observations are made directly in the field on routine procedures carried out and discuss events in the field to identify problems and determine actions. The results of the study indicate that there are several things that must be improved related to the routine maintenance schedule, the technical setup of the inking unit and identification of potential problems as a reference for improving standard operations in the field. Keywords—Inking unit, offset printing machine, speedmaster machine

Abstract

Ink quality study have been observed on ink products in the market as a right confirmation of ink users for printint production. The study is also conducted to ensure the suitability of the ink with the printing materials and machines used by consumers. The observation was conducted on two brands of ink from the same manufacturer. The quality data studied were viscosity, spreadability, drying time, density and L*a*b. The results show that, although both inks are produced by the same manufacturer and are intended for the same market, there are differences in quality, namely one has a higher viscosity and a faster drying time than the other. Keywords—quality of printing ink, viscosity, spreadability, drying time, density and L*a*b

Abstract

Paper is the most widely used print media, made with cellulose fibers derived from tree wood and non-fiber. The existence of paper is a tool that is quite important in human civilization and its needs continue to increase from year to year. The tear resistance of paper greatly affects the printing process. The value of tear resistance is influenced by several factors, namely the size of the fiber, besides that it is also influenced by the number of bonds between the fibers, grammar, humidity, moisture content, fiber direction, adhesive on the paper. The purpose of this final project is to determine the value of paper tear resistance which is better between two types of 120 gram Mattpaper paper products, namely New Victory Luxe and Nevia products and also to determine the effect of paper tear resistance on the printing process. The writing method used is descriptive method with data collection / observation, testing and literature techniques. Based on the results of the tear resistance test with the Elmendorf test method, which is to test the tear resistance of a paper, the tear resistance value of Nevia paper products is better than New Victory Luxe paper products. Keywords—Resistance, Paper, Mattpaper
