Abstract

The aim of the study was to know the effect of sludge as the waste of biogas in the feed ration on the growth of nile(Oreochromis sp.) fingerling.The design experiment used in this experiment was Completely Randomized Design with 4 tretments namely 10; 20; 30; and 40% of sludge ration. A commercial fish feed used as the control. The treatments were done in triplicate.The result showed that the additions of sludge in each ration did not affect all growth parameter observed, suggesting sludge might be added to the ration up to 40%. The Survival Rates, Specific Growth Rates, Feed Conversion Ratios (FCR), Net Protein Utilization (NPU), EneryConvertion Efficiency (ECE), Protein Efficiency Ratios (PER) ranged from 94,8 to 94,27, 4,77 to 5,98% BW/day, 0,71 to 1,18, 39,3 to 58,97%, 26,45 to 41,49%, and 2,71 to 4,5, respectivey.

Abstract

The aim of study was to know the effect of sludge in the ration on the gonadal growth of Oreochromis sp. broodstock. Experimental design used in this experiment was completely Randomized Design. The broodstocks were fed with the ration containing 0-40% of sludge, or with a commercial fish feed as a control.The results were not significantly differences between the treatment in all parameters. The sludge in ration ranging from 0 to 40% resulted the level of gonadal maturation of 4, 6, 7, dan 9. The value of Gonadal Maturation Index on 0,96 to 3,98 % and the control group on 1,75 %. The specific growth rate of broodstock fed with the ration ranged from 1,1 to 1,62 Bw/day and that of the development of gonadal control group was 1,97. The survival rate were variated between 14,29 to 100% and that of the development of gonadal control group is 71,43%. The ration containing 40% sludge is the most suitable feed for maturation in Oreochromis.

Abstract

The objectives of research was to analyses the chromosome numbers of tetraploid goldfish (Carassius auratus) produced by heat shocking method. The tetraploidy was carried out 29 minutes after fertilization of eggs by heat shocking for 1.5 minutes at 400C.The chromosome number was analyzed with the modus of chromosomes.The results indicated that 1)  the diploid control of goldfish has 100.28% + 0.0982 chromosom  with modus numbers of  100, and the tetraploid goldfish has 199.94 + 0.982 chromosomes with number of modus at 200. 2)  The effectiveness of the heat shocking method in goldfish for tetraploidy was 46.60%.The hatching rate of diploid control (65.068% + 0.52%) was significantly diferent with that of  tetraploid fish (24.53% + 1.649%). In addition, the survival rate of diploid controls (86.875% + 6.287). was significantly different with that of tetraploid goldfish (34.274% + 19.289%) and the specific growth rates of diploid controls (5,104 + 0,074) was not significantly diferent that of with tetraploid fish (3.982 + 0.011).
