Abstract

Temperatur merupakan salah satu ekspresi untuk energi kinetik dari pergerakan atom dan molekul. Jenis energi ini dapat diukur dengan berbagai fenomena antara lain perubahan volume, dapat diukur dengan berbagai fenomena antara lain perubahan volume, tekanan, resistansi, gaya elektromagnetik atau radiasi elektromagnetik. Passive Infrared (PIR) merupakan jenis radiasi pirometer untuk detektor foton. Radiasi yang datang akan menyebabkan detektor melepaskan sejumlah elektron dan menghasilkan sinyal listrik untuk digunakan dalam pengukuran. Passive Infrared (PIR) mendeteksi radiasi infra merah dari tubuh manusia yang sering digunakan dalam teknologi deteksi gerak. Detektor suhu yang digunakan hanya untuk mendeteksi orang yang bergerak tanpa adanya kemampuan untuk menghitung berapa banyak gerakan yang dilakukan oleh orang tersebut. Untuk menentukan jumlah gerakan orang maka sistem ini dibuat berbasis mikrokontroler ATMega8535. Apabila terdeteksi gerakan melebihi batas yang telah ditentukan maka sistem akan langsung bekerja. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan membuat perancangan sistem keamanan garasi mobil dan kemudian dilakukan pengujian berupa pengujian sistem mikrokontroler ATMega 8535, pengujian tampilan LCD 2x16, pengujian sensor PIR, dan pengujian sistem secara keseluruhan (pengujian berdasarkan jumlah gerakan dan pengujian lebar sudut pendeteksian sensor PIR). Dari penelitian diperoleh hasil yaitu semakin banyak jumlah gerakan yang ditangkap sensor, maka tegangan yang dihasilkan juga semakin besar. Buzzer dan LED akan menyala jika gerakan di atas 9 kali gerakan. Tegangan terbesar terjadi ketika sudut pengujian 0º dan 90º. Buzzer dan LED menyala ketika sudut pengujian 0º, 90ºdan 180º atau dapat dikatakan pada saat posisi sejajar dan siku-siku.

Abstract

One of the easiest ways to minimize electric energy use is by turning off the electrical appliances if they are not being used. Electrical appliances which are generally available in a building are lamps. Lamps control is still using conventional way; that is by using on and off switch. On the other hand, recent technology has invented more modern and sophisticated communication devices that can help people’s life. This research proposes the design of lamps control system that is in the form of web application using PHP programming language that is addressed to end users by pointing at the previous research that has produced a gateway prototype system by using access point. Then, this web application is evaluated by passing through usability testing based on five usability aspects. From the result of the assessment, it could be got reflect time to mean demand 1.332 seconds for turning on and turning off the lamps. The evaluation result of this web application showed that receiving value of usability by the user was above 3 (above the median) using 5 scale or having mean 4 point. Generally, web application that was made had owned usability value; those are good learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors and satisfaction.

Abstract

Organic waste management in Indonesia faces significant challenges due to the high greenhouse gas emissions produced. In 2020, greenhouse gas emissions from waste management in Indonesia especially the waste sector contributes around 3.2% of total global emissions. The use of organic waste shredders is one solution to minimize waste volume; althought still heavily rely on conventional energy, which is not environmentally friendly. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology in organic waste shredding machines to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. An experimental approach was used in this research. Data were collected through measurements of energy generated by the solar cells, energy consumed by the machine, and the organic waste shredding output processed into compost fertilizer. The results showed that use of solar cells could generate an average of 5.8 kWh of energy per day, with machine energy efficiency reaching 72%. Compared to conventional energy, the use of solar cells increased the shredder machine's productivity to 25 kg/hour and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by up to 70%. Additionally, machine operating time increased by 20% compared to machines using conventional energy.  This increase is due to the solar cell technology itself. In conclusion, application of solar cell technology in organic waste shredders not only improves operational efficiency but also significantly contributes to carbon emission reduction. The research  contribution is to offer concrete solutions that support the achievement of national and global carbon emission reduction targets, as well as creating a waste management model that can be applied in various regions in Indonesia and the world.

Abstract

Microcontroller practicum learning in Vocational High Schools (SMK) requires effective media to help students understand both concepts and practical skills optimally. This study aims to analyze the comparison of the effectiveness of three microcontroller practicum media, namely trainer-box, simulation software, and breadboard hands-on, in improving student learning outcomes. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental method on 14 students from class XI at SMK Negeri 1 Sentani, majoring in Industrial Electronics. The instruments used were a pretest and posttest consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions, along with a student satisfaction questionnaire with 12 Likert scale questions. The analysis results show that the average pretest score of 52.143 increased to 71.786 in the posttest. The N-Gain calculation resulted in a value of 0.41, which falls into the moderate category, indicating that the use of all three media was effective in improving student learning outcomes. Based on the questionnaire results, student responses to the practicum media varied. The trainer-box received the highest average score (4.43, categorized as very high), followed by the breadboard hands-on (4.14, categorized as high), and lastly, the simulation software (3.36, categorized as moderate).
