Abstract

Steel is one of the raw materials used by PT. XYZ in the manufacture of its defense products; therefore, quality control (QC) and checking process become the most essential part in the process. To ensure that the steel raw materials used reach the standards, metallurgical properties are examined using several criteria must be carried out well, as microstructure, grain size, decarburization and impurities (inclusions). Inclusions or impurities are unwanted non-metal compounds and are the main factor for the initial appearance of ductile fracture and brittle facture during the production process. The severity of the inclusions in steel raw materials affects the next process so that errors in readings to determine the severity of minor or major inclusions must be minimized. This is because when the inclusion severity level that read is included in the major level then the steel raw material cannot be used and turns to be scrap and causes losses to the company. To minimize the matters, operator accuracy is required in analyzing by a comparison table, because this method analyzes the inclusion compounds one by one and it takes ± 1 minute to determine the severity. The purpose of this research is to build a quality decision-making system based on fuzzy mamdani logic that is used to determine the severity of inclusions and to compare the results of system processing with operators to see the accuracy of the system and time efficiency that has been built. In this study using the Mamdani fuzzy logic method with the variables used are Alumina inclusion length, Silicate inclusion length, Alumina inclusion width and Silicate inclusion width. The system is built using matlab software. The system test results from the 6 samples used to obtain comparisons according to the operator and the system are stated to be minor, making the accuracy obtained quite good and in terms of time, the determination process with the system takes less time, namely ± 2 seconds

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the footwear sector face increasing competitive pressure from imported products, rapidly changing fashion trends, shifting consumer preferences, and the growth of digital purchasing behavior. These challenges require footwear SMEs not only to innovate and build partnerships, but also to translate market knowledge and internal capabilities into effective marketing strategies. This study examines the mediating role of marketing strategy in the relationship between product innovation, business partnerships, market orientation, and marketing performance. A quantitative explanatory approach with a cross-sectional design was employed. Data were collected from 310 footwear SME owners or managers in the Greater Bandung area using proportional random sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that product innovation (β = 0.312), business partnerships (β = 0.281), and market orientation (β = 0.410) have significant positive effects on marketing strategy, with market orientation emerging as the strongest predictor. Marketing strategy also has a significant positive effect on marketing performance (β = 0.550) and significantly mediates the relationships between the three antecedents and marketing performance. This study contributes to SME marketing literature by demonstrating that marketing strategy functions as an implementation mechanism that converts innovation, collaboration, and market intelligence into performance outcomes in a trend-sensitive footwear industry. Practically, the findings suggest that footwear SMEs should prioritize market intelligence, align product innovation with fashion trends and customer value, and develop partnerships that strengthen distribution, digital promotion, and market access. These elements should be integrated into consistent segmentation, positioning, and offline–digital channel strategies to improve marketing performance.

Abstract

Abstract

PT Sari Alam Sukabumi is a natural ingredient processing company that produces herbal extracts in the form of dry powder. In its production process, the company uses the main fillers, namely maltodextrin and cornstarch. However, during 2024 the company faces significant constraints related to raw material suppliers, such as delivery delays of up to 25% of the total schedule, high price fluctuations, and inconsistent material quality. The symptoms of these problems have an impact on the inhibition of the production process, increased operational costs, and disruptions in the distribution schedule. This research aims to assist companies in determining the most optimal supplier of maltodextrin and cornstarch raw materials based on various evaluation criteria, namely price, quality, service, timeliness of delivery, and accuracy of delivery quantity. The specific objective of this study is to identify important criteria in supplier selection using the Procurement Supplier Management (PSM) approach and apply the Multi-Objective Optimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method to obtain the best ranking of available supplier alternatives. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, questionnaires to five internal company respondents, and documentation. The research process included determining five main criteria—price, quality, service, timeliness, and accuracy of delivery quantity—which were then weighted based on respondents' assessments. Furthermore, supplier performance data is processed using the MOORA method to obtain ranking results.
