Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of stem height position, drying temperature and the interaction of both factors. factorial experiment method in the Completely Randomized Design (RAL) it is consists of two factors treatment with three timer repetitions. Tha’s factor is the Position of the height of the tree trunk that conret of 3 sub factors namely the base of the stem, the middle of the stem and the top of the stem. Drying of Temperature consist of 3 sub factors is 550C, 700C and 850C. The average result of the dimension changiry on the highest radial is in the middle of the stem with the drying temperature 850C is 2.0740% and the lowest is the base of the stem with drying temperature of 700C is 1.0667%. While the highest tangential of dimension is in the base of the stem with drying temperature 550C is 2.9598% and the lowest is in the position of stem with drying temperature 550C is 1.1163%. Based on the research the position of the height stem and the drying temperature is having the real effect, on the dimension of the wood with the height of the stem. However the high of drying temperature is not inflounce no the value of depreciation of ratio. The best Dimension Stability is on the top of the stem, in the drying temperature 550C, with the ratio’s result tangensial depriciation 0,87. While in the dry condition, the lowest ratio’n is in the middle of the stem in 700C temperature is 0.62. Generally the result shows dimensional of stability with the ration tangenial of  depreciation is sufficient after drying wood.Keywords : Dimensional Stability, Drying Temperature, Height Position of the stem

Abstract

AbstractThis research was carried out in the Wood Workshop Faculty of forestry University of Tanjungpura to manufacture test and example in the lab Silvikultur for testing the stability of dimension lumber, Wood is a material that besifat hygroscopic materials that can absorb and remove water depending on the environment. The test sample is inserted into each of the oven with a temperature of 500C, 700C, and 900C until it weighs the constant. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the position on the stem height and temperature of drying as well as the interaction of these two factors the dimension stability of wood against the Rubber as well as knowing the position on the stem height and the most appropriate drying temperature so that it can show the highest dimensional stability. The results of the research on the radial direction indicates that the value of moisture content ranged from 9.8394%-10.3484% increase of the drying temperature decreases. While the value of density showed no noticeable difference i.e. ranged from 0.8188%-0.7669%. Depreciation value dimensions vary greatly on the position of the height of the stem that is ranged from 1.2189%.-3.1405%. Research on tangential direction indicates that the value of moisture content ranged from 9.9894%-14.6225% increase of the drying temperature decreases. While the value of density showed no noticeable difference i.e. value 0.7390%-0.8143%. Value changes in dimensions ranging from 1.1594%-2.1629%. The value of depreciation is not too mean and very varied temperature drying.Keywords : Dimensional stability, temperatur drying , The height position on the rod

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine diversity of Bamboo (Bambusodae) and level of dominance. Determination of observation using purposive sampling method with plot size of 10 x 10 m. Based on identification result of research in the area of waterfall forest Riam Odong there are 3 types of Bamboo, among other Bamboo Poring (Dendrocalamus asper (Schultes f.) Backer ex heyne), Bamboo Munti (Schizostachyum sp), and Bamboo Buru (Schizostachyum zollingeri Stuedel). The most important index is Schizostachyum sp with value (INP=149,07%), followed by Schizostachyum zollingeri Stuedel with (INP=31,64%), lowest type is Dendrocalamus asper (Schultes f.) Backer ex heyne with value (INP=19,29%). The dominant species is Schizostachyum sp with highest dominance value (C=0,5555), while lowest is Dendrocalamus asper (Schultes f.) Backer ex heyne with value (C=0093). The highest diversity index Dendrocalamus asper (Schultes f.) Backer ex heyne nemely (H’= 0,9949) and type of Schizostachyum zollingeri Stuedel (H’=0,9817) while lowest diversity index for the types of Schizostachyum sp (H’=0,3779). The value of highest evennes of Bamboo was Dendrocalamus asper (Schultes f.) Backer ex heyne with an evennes of types of 0,3673 and lowest evennes found in Schizostachyum sp kind of 0,0743.Keywords: Bamboo, Diversity, Riam Odong Waterfall Forest
