<![CDATA[ABSTRACT : The Relationship between Knowledge Levels of Male Students in Class I and II About the Dangers of Smoking on Smoking Behavior at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh Introduction: Smoking is burning tobacco and then smoking it, the temperature of a cigarette being burned is 900C for the tip of the cigarette is burned.Purpose: It is known that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of male students in grades I and II about the dangers of smoking on smoking behavior in SMP Negeri 4 Sungai PenuhMethod: The type of quantitative research carried out is descriptive-analytical design with a cross-sectional approach has been carried out at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Full September - November 2021. The population in the study was all male students in grades I and II of SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh with sampling using simple random sampling. Univariate and bivariate analysis using statistical tests and computerized processing.Result: It was found that 20 (62.5%) respondents had low knowledge and 17 (53.1%) respondents had poor smoking behavior. Based on the results of statistical tests there is a relationship between knowledge and smoking behavior with a p-value = 0.035. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge and smoking behaviorConclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge of male students in grades I and II about the dangers of smoking on smoking behavior at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Full in 2021. For schools and health workers to further develop and improve health promotion efforts regarding the dangers of smoking so as to reduce smoking behavior in students. Keywords: Knowledge of danger of smoking, smoking behavior Intisari : Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Siswa Putra Kelas I dan II Tentang Bahaya Merokok Terhadap Perilaku Merokok di SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh Latar belakang : Merokok adalah membakar tembakau kemudian dihisap, temperature pada sebatang rokok yang tengah dibakar adalah 900C untuk ujung rokok yang dibakar.Tujuan : Diketahui adanya hubungan tingkat pengetahuan siswa putra kelas I dan II tentang bahaya merokok terhadap perilaku merokok di SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh.Metode Penelitian : Jenis penelitian Kuantitatif yang dilakukan bersifat desain Deskriptif Analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional telah dilakukan di SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh September - November 2021. Populasi pada penelitian seluruh siswa putra kelas I dan II SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. analisa univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji statistik dan di olah secara komputerisasi.Hasil : Diperoleh 20 (62,5% ) responden yang berpengetahuan rendah dan 17 (53,1%) responden perilaku merokok kurang baik. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan perilaku merokok dengan nilai pvalue=0,035. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan perilaku merokok.Kesimpulan : Adanya hubungan tingkat pengetahuan siswa putra kelas I dan II tentang bahaya merokok terhadap perilaku merokok di SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Penuh tahun 2021. Bagi sekolah dan petugas kesehatan untuk lebih mengembangkan dan meningkatkan lagi upaya promosi kesehatan mengenai bahaya merokok sehingga dapat mengurangi perilaku merokok pada siswa.
