Abstract

Rekomendasi Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia (Kemenkes RI, 2020) menyebutkan bahwa pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19 dapat dilakukan dengan menjaga kebersihan tangan, menjaga jarak dan memakai masker, serta meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh. . Upaya peningkatan imunitas dengan mengkonsumsi makanan bergizi, aktivitas fisik, dan suplemen kesehatan. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui penggunaan suplemen kesehatan dan apakah ada hubungan antara penggunaan suplemen dengan pengetahuan tentang COVID-19 di Desa Mudung Darat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei deskriptif. Analisis menggunakan chi-square. Penggunaan suplemen kesehatan dilihat dari karakteristik responden dari segi usia. Penggunaan suplemen hampir merata, antara 14-18%, dari segi Pendidikan. Responden dengan pendidikan SMA sederajat sebanyak 47,7%, lebih tinggi dibandingkan responden yang berpendidikan tinggi atau akademi sebesar 38,5%. Apalagi penggunaan suplemen cukup tinggi terlihat dari tingkat penyerapan tenaga kerja sebesar 46,2% oleh pekerja tetap seperti ASN dan pegawai swasta. Ada hubungan antara penggunaan suplemen kesehatan dengan pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Mudung Darat Kabupaten Muaro Jambi tentang Covid-19.

Abstract

The Corona virus attacks millions of people regardless of caste, ethnicity, religion, age, gender and skin color. Efforts that can be made to avoid transmission of the corona virus are maintaining body immunity or endurance by consuming immune-boosting spices. The purpose of this study was to see what percentage of people use spices, especially Turmeric Rhizomes, Ginger Rhizomes and other Spices. This type of research is descriptive observational using a survey approach with a total target population of 7,923 people from 2,187 heads of families spread across 19 RTs and involving 370 respondents. Research data was collected by distributing questionnaires or questionnaires to respondents, then the research data was processed to obtain the frequency of each variable. The results showed that the utilization of Rhizome Spices during the Covid-19 Pandemic was the Utilization of Turmeric Rhizomes (37.30%), Ginger Rhizomes as much as 37.74% and the use of other spices 38.9%. The conclusion of the study is that in the Suka Karya Village community the use of rhizome spices is still low

Abstract

In the village of Kumpeh Ulu, you can find various types of plants that are efficacious, one of which is spice plants such as ginger, turmeric, temulawak, galangal, and temu Kunci. The problem encountered in the village of Kumpeh Ulu is that there is limited knowledge regarding techniques for processing these spices into Simplicia, they do not yet know the innovation of food products into health drinks and snacks and the people's economy is still low. The use of medicinal plants there is still very simple, only carried out empirically based on the use and processing that has been passed down from generation to generation. Based on the above, the spice plants or Empon-Empon produced there can be processed into food products as a co-19-resistant immune system enhancer. Community Service (PKM) aims to process empon-empon which is commonly found in Kumpeh Ulu Village into effective innovations such as instant drinks, jelly candy, and marshmallows and can open employment opportunities for empowering and improving the economy of the Kumpeh Ulu Village community. The method in this PKM includes counseling regarding the benefits and nutritional content of Empon-Empon as well as demonstrations of making instant drinks, jelly candy, and marshmallows based on red ginger and areca nut. The PKM results obtained areca ginger instant drink products, areca ginger jelly candy, and areca ginger marshmallows which will be made into superior products of Kumpeh Ulu Village, Muaro Jambi. From the results of the monitoring and evaluation of PKM activities, it was found that the people of Kumpeh Ulu Village had produced jelly candy, instant drinks, and marshmallows in the joint business group in the Kumpeh Ulu village hall, Muaro Jambi Regency
