Abstract

Telah disintesis senyawa polioksometalat tipe Dawson (NH4)6[b-P2W18O62] dan (NH4)6[a-P2W18O62] yang dilanjutkan dengan karakterisasi menggunakan spektrometer 31P NMR dan FT-IR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa polioksometalat tipe Dawson memberikan sinyal 31P NMR yang berbeda untuk struktur b dan a. Struktur b pada (NH4)6[b-P2W18O62] menghasilkan dua puncak pada pergeseran kimia -10,90 dan -11,68 ppm sedangkan struktur a memberikan satu puncak pada pergeseran kimia -12,39 ppm yang mengindikasikan adanya rotasi unit W3O13 pada struktur b sebagai penyusun struktur Dawson. Hal ini diperkuat oleh perbedaan spektra FT-IR pada stuktur b yang memiliki vibrasi pada bilangan gelombang 1164 cm-1 sedangkan struktur a tidak. Secara umum spektra FT-IR untuk polioksometalat tipe Dawson (NH4)6[b-P2W18O62] dan (NH4)6[a-P2W18O62] tidak menunjukkan adanya pebedaan yang signifikan terutama pada bilangan gelombang disekitar 1090 cm-1 yang menunjukkan vibrasi P-O.

Abstract

Research about preparation and characterization complex of chitosan hydrogel–copper(II) had been done. Chitosan hydrogel was obtained from deacetylation of chitin which was isolated from crab shells. Characterization included determination of N-total, Corganic , deacetylation degree, and FTIR spectroscopy. The results of research showed that obtained chitosan had 7,9571% N-total, 2,767% Corganic, and 71,486% deacetylation degree. FTIR spectrum of chitosan showed the increasing in percentage of transmitant from C=O group and the shifting in wavenumber from 1561,5 to 1563 cm-1 indicated N-H bending. Generally, FTIR spectrum of chitosan hydrogel showed the shifting to higher wavenumbers caused by changing in bond angles of chitosan group. FTIR spectrum of chitosan hydrogel-copper(II) complex showed that absorption regions of N-H group becoming wide and the shifting in wavenumber from 1594,74 to 1542,9 cm-1 whichindicated N-H bending because of copper(II) bonding to N-group of chitosan.

Abstract

Ni/Al layered double hydroxide was used as a starting material for composite formation with biochar as a matrix. The materials were characterized using X-ray, FTIR, nitrogen adsorption-desorption, thermal, and morphology analyses. The NiAl LDH/Biochar material is then used as an adsorbent of methylene blue from an aqueous solution. The factor that was influencing adsorption such as pH, time, methylene blue concentration, and temperature adsorption was studied systematically. The regeneration of adsorbent was performed to know the stability of NiAl LDH/Biochar under several cycle adsorption processes. The results showed that NiAl LDH/Biochar has a specific diffraction peak at 11.63° and 22.30°. NiAl LDH/Biochar has more than ten-fold surface area properties (438,942 m2/g) than biochar (50.936 m2/g), and Ni/Al layered double hydroxide (92.682 m2/g). The methylene blue adsorption on NiAl LDH/Biochar follows a pseudo-second-order kinetic adsorption model and classify as physical adsorption. The high reusability properties were found for NiAl LDH/Biochar, which was largely different from biochar and Ni/Al layered double hydroxide.

Abstract

 ABSTRAK Telah dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Desa Tanjung Seteko Indralaya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat tentang: pengolahan buah kelapa menjadi virgin coconut oil (VCO) dan demonstrasi pembuatan dan pemanfaatan VCO. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini diikuti 20 orang ibu rumah tangga dan remaja putri yang berasal dari desa Tanjung Seteko. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan adalah memperkenalkan teknologi pembuatan VCO. Selain itu dilakukan juga diskusi dan demonstrasi penggunaan VCO sebagai ramuan yang berguna bagi kesehatan. Penyuluhan yang dilakukan mendapat tanggapan yang positif dari masyarakat. Kegiatan diskusi dan tanya jawab juga mendapat perhatian yang tinggi dari masyarakat. Masyarakat merasa senang karena mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang teknologi pembuatan VCO. Dengan diberikannya penyuluhan masyarakat juga menjadi faham cara membuat ramuan berbahan dasar VCO. Masyarakat juga berharap kegiatan pengabdian dapat berlangsung secara berkelanjutan, sehingga wawasan mereka akan terus bertambah baik. Kata Kunci: Pembuatan, Penyuluhan, VCO ABSTRACT Community service activities in Tanjung Seteko village Indralaya have been carried out. The purpose of this activity is to provide information to the public about: processing coconuts into virgin coconut oil (VCO) and demonstrations of making and using VCO. This community service activity was attended by 20 housewives and young women from Tanjung Seteko village. The activity carried out to introduce the technology of making Virgin Coconut Oil. In addition, discussions and demonstrations on the use of VCO as an ingredient that is useful for health were also held. The counseling carried out received a positive response from the community. Discussion and question and answer activities also received high attention from the community. People are happy because they get knowledge and skills about VCO manufacturing technology. By providing public education, they also understand how to make VCO-based ingredients. The community also hopes that service activities can take place in a sustainable manner, so that their knowledge will continue to improve. Keywords: Making, Counseling, VCO

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kulit buah naga merah dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media untuk interaksi secara kimia dengan larutan boraks secara sederhana. Kegiatan ini mempunyai tujuan yaitu demonstrasi tentang interaksi kimia antara antosianin di dalam kulit buah naga merah dengan larutan boraks dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dengan para siswa SMA Islam Terpadu Bina Ilmi. Pembuatan ekstrak cair dari kulit buah naga merah yaitu dengan metode sederhana dan mudah. Proses ini adalah mereaksikan kulit buah naga merah yang telah dihaluskan dengan aquades. Ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah selanjutnya direaksikan dengan larutan boraks. Hasil dari demonstrasi yang telah dilakukan dinyatakan bahwa ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai medium untuk pengujian secara kualitatif senyawa boraks. Warna ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah berubah menjadi warna ungu setelah diinteraksikan dengan larutan boraks. Kata Kunci: Ekstrak Cair, Boraks, Demonstrasi, Diskusi  ABSTRACT Peels from red dragon fruits can be utilized as a media for straightforward chemical reactions with solutions of borax. This activity had the aim of demonstrating the chemical interaction between anthocyanin in red dragon fruit peel and borax solution and was followed by a discussion with the students of Bina Ilmi Integrated Islamic High School. Making a liquid extract of red dragon fruit peel is done using a simple and easy method. This process involves reacting the mashed red dragon fruit peel with distilled water. The liquid extract of red dragon fruit peel is then reacted with a borax solution. The results of the demonstration that had been carried out stated that the liquid red dragon fruit extract of peel could be used as a medium for qualitative testing of borax compounds. The color of the liquid extract of red dragon fruit peel changes to purple after interacting with the borax solution.  Keywords: Liquid Extract, Borax, Demonstration, Discussion
