Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the effectiveness of the learning model of TPS viewed by students understanding of mathematical concepts. The population of this research was all students of grade VII of SMPN 20 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014 as many as 262 students and distributed into 7 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIIB class which were taken randomly. This research used one group posttest only design. The instrument of this research was test of mathematical conceptual understanding. Based on the analysis of data, the cooperative learning model of TPS type was ineffective viewed by understanding of mathematical concepts of students.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran TPS ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 20 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 sebanyak 262 siswa dan terdistribusi dalam 7 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIB yang diambil secara acak. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group posttest only design. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep matematis, pembelajaran kooperatif, TPS
