Abstract

The study aims to measure and analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and social capital towards self-regulated learning. This study used a quantitative approach and survey method. The samples are 400 students from 16 Junior High Schools grade 8th in West Bandung regency. The research used stratified random sampling. The results showed that emotional intelligence and social capital positive and significant impact on student’ self regulated learning. The influence of emotional intelligence was 0,447, or 20% toward self regulated learning, while the remaining (80%) was influenced by other factors. The influence of social capital was 0.232 or 5.4%, toward self regulated learning, while the remaining (94.6%) was influenced by other factors. Simultaneously, the emotional intelligence and social capital influenced 33.2% toward self regulated learning and the remaining (66.8%) was influenced by other factors. In this study the variables of emotional intelligence has the most impact on self regulated learning. The implication showed that the student’s self regulated learning could be enhanced by increasing the students’ emotional intelligence and social capital.

Abstract

 AbstractThis study aims to measure and analyze the effect of parenting patterns of parents and peer groups on social capital. This study uses a quantitative approach and survey methods. The research sample consisted of 400 respondents from 16 public junior high schools in West Bandung Regency. The sample that became the object of the study was made up of 8th-grade students. The sample was drawn using stratified random sampling. The results showed that the parenting patterns of parents and peer groups had a positive and significant effect on students' social capital. Parenting patterns influence social capital by 20%. Social capital has a 25% influence. Taken together, the parenting styles of parents and peer groups influence capital by 47% and social impact by 53%, after the influence of other factors. Peer group characteristics had the most impact on social capital in this study. The inference is that enlarging a student's peer group can boost their social capital. Keywords: Parenting Patterns of Parents, Peer Group, Social Capital AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur dan menganalisis pengaruh pola asuh orang tua dan kelompok teman sebaya terhadap modal sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuntitatif dan metode survai. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 400 responden dari 16 SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Sampel yang menjadi objek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 8. Penarikan sampel dilakukan secara Stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh orang tua dan kelompok teman sebaya berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap modal sosial siswa. Pola asuh orang tua memiliki pengaruh terhadap modal sosial sebesar 20%. Kelompok teman sebaya memiliki pengaruh terhadap modal sosial sebesar 25%. Secara bersama-sama, pola asuh orang tua dan kelompok teman sebaya ini memiliki pengaruh terhadap modal sosial siswa sebesar 47% dan sisanya 53%  dipengaruhi faktor lain. Dalam penelitian ini variabel kelompok teman sebaya memiliki pengaruh paling besar terhadap modal sosial. Implikasinya bahwa modal sosial siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan meningkatkan kelompok teman sebaya. Kata Kunci: Pola Asuh Orangtua, Kelompok Teman Sebaya, Modal Sosial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi siswa terhadap kemampuan keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa PLP dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 224 responden dari 7 SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Garut. Sampel yang menjadi objek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 8. Penarikan sampel dilakukan secara Stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa PLP di kelas, menurut persepsi siswa: 1) Kemampuan keterampilan mengajarnya dalam pembelajaran IPS termasuk dalam kategori sedang; 2) Ketercapaian Indikator keterampilan mengajar yang paling tinggi adalah kemampuan mahasiswa dalam membuka pelajaran, diantaranya : menyampaikan tujuan pembelajaran, menyampaikan manfaat materi yang akan dipelajari sebagai bentuk motivasi, dan melakukan apersepsi yaitu mengaitkan materi yang sudah dipelajari dengan materi yang akan dipelajari;  3) Kemampuan yang paling rendah adalah Kemampuan  memanfaatkan sumber belajar dan media, diantaranya saat mengajar kurang menggunakan media pembelajaran seperti gambar atau video dan hanya menggunakan buku paket saja, tidak menggunakan sumber belajar lainnya. Kata Kunci: Persepsi, Keterampilan Mengajar, Pembelajaran IPS

Abstract

Abstract: Media Literacy and The Prevention of Fake News among Students. Objectives: The spread of hoax news among university students is a problem that needs attention with the increasing use of social media and easy access to information. This study aims to evaluate the extent to which media literacy skills influence media consumption habits, knowledge and awareness, skills and practices, attitudes and beliefs, as well as behavior and engagement in preventing hoax news among students of the Social Science Education IPI Garut. Methods: The research method used is a survey method. The approach taken is a correlational quantitative approach, which allows for measuring the strength of the relationships between these variables. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires online via Google Forms. A sample of 123 active students from the Social Science Education Program at IPI Garut participated as respondents in this study, selected using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire distributed to students online. The data were analyzed using SPSS. Findings: The results of the study show a significant relationship between media literacy skills and the prevention of hoax news among students. Conclusion: It was found that the correlation in media consumption habits at 0.297, which falls into the low category, in knowledge and awareness at 0.510, which falls into the medium category, in skills and practices at 0.523, which falls into the medium category, in attitudes and beliefs at 0.658, which falls into the strong category, and in behavior and engagement at 0.688, which falls into the strong category. Keywords: media literacy, preventing hoax news, students.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202443
