ABSTRACTThe aim of this research are to: (1) know the stream direction of shallowgroundwater in the area of sugar palm flour industry at Daleman, Tulung, Klaten in2012. (2) know the quality of shallow groundwater to drink in the area of sugar palmflour in Daleman, Tulung, Klaten in 2012. (3) know the appropriatness of the shallowgroundwater to drink in the area of sugar palm flour in Daleman, Tulung, Klaten in2012.This research used descriptive qualitative method. analysis method. Thepopulation of the study is the entire shallow groundwater in the area of sugar palmflour industry in Daleman. The sampling technique used in this study is purposivesampling.Based on the result of the research, it can be conclused that: (1) The streamdirection of shallow groundwater in the area of sugar palm flour industry atDaleman,Tulung, Klaten 2012 goes to Bendo river. (2) The quality of shallowgroundwater from the well in the area of sugar palam flour industry atDaleman,Tulung, Klaten 2012is classified into 2 classes of water quality, those arewater quality of C class (medium) which is contaminated in middle level consists ofthree sample groundwater in Bendo; as well as the water quality of D class (bad) whichis contaminated in high level, consists of one sample groundwater in Margoluwih, twosample groundwater in Tuban and three sample groundwater in Bendo. (3) Based onthe appropriatness of groundwater quality to drink in the area of sugar palm flourindustry at Daleman,Tulung, Klaten 2012 show that the groundwater taken as sample isnot appropriate to drink..Keywords: Ground water, Quality for water, Sugar palm flour Industry.
