Abstract

This article aims to describe an endogamous marriage that has an impact on the existence of the customary village government system. The research method used to search for data from this paper is document study, observation and interviews with traditional leaders in the traditional village of Tenganan Pegringsingan, Bali. The research data, both secondary and primary, were presented descriptively which were previously analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that the existence of the marriage system and government system in the Tenganan Pegringsingan traditional village is like a currency, one side of the marriage system while the other side is the traditional village government system. The relationship between the two institutions is not just an ordinary relationship, but as a conditional relationship, meaning that if you want to get a share of 'tika' as a monthly villager's income (such as salary), it is necessary to fill in the traditional village government structure through endogamous marriage. According to Koentjaraningrat's view, the strength of this existence will undergo a very long change. This is because individuals since childhood have been infused with cultural values that live in society so that these conceptions have long been rooted in the realm of their souls. That is why these cultural values are difficult to replace with other cultural values in a short time.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the reason the indigenous Tenganan people preserve endogamous marriage. This descriptive research was conducted in the traditional village of Tenganan Pegringsingan, with data acquisition through document studies, interviews and observations. The results of this study indicate that until now the traditional village community of Tenganan Pegringsingan still preserves and still implements the written rule, namely Awig-Awig . The Tenganan Asli preserve endogamous marriages with the aim of remaining able to become villagers who can control the village government while preserving the traditions of the original Tenganan people. With their uniqueness in using a government system based on the order of marital seniority, the native Tenganan people receive rewards according to their positions in the government system. The condition that is still sustainable until now is reinforced by Shill's theory that the connection of today's society with its past has never died at all. Furthermore, it is said that the link between the present and the past is the basis of tradition.

Abstract

This study aims to describe informal education as an effort to preserve endogamous marriages in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village Bali. This study used a case study method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were the heads (Kliang) of the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, community leaders, and the natives of Tenganan (krama desa). Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique was interactive analysis through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicated that efforts to preserve endogamous marriage in the Traditional Village of Tenganan Pegringsingan Bali, could be done by implementing informal education reflected in the materuna nyoman and madaha rituals. This effort is meant for guiding children who are about to embark on adolescence so that they understand ethics, customs, norms, manners, system of governance, traditional village areas, and ceremonies held in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, and so that they are ready to move on to the next stages of life: adolescence, adulthood, and then marriage. Through these rituals, children were prepared to become village krama (natives of Tenganan), responsible for maintaining and following the traditional village's rules from an early age. Therefore, this process is expected to form a strong mentality so that the younger generation can preserve their key local wisdom, namely endogamous marriage.

Abstract

Konsekuensi era globalisasi membawa perubahan sosial yang signifikan di masyarakat terutama pada kemajuan teknologi. Selain meningkatkan produktivitas dan kreativitas, globalisasi juga membawa konsekuensi negatif yaitu salah satunya adalah degradasi moral di kalangan generasi muda. Untuk mengurangi dampak negatif era digital, tantangan utama sektor pendidikan saat ini adalah menanamkan pola pikir dan sikap kritis pada generasi muda sebagai warga negara digital. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode literatur review dari berbagai sumber seperti buku, jurnal penelitian nasional dan internasional. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlu adanya implementasi penguatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah, keluarga dan masyarakat sebagai strategi untuk mempersiapkan generasi muda sebagai digital citizenship. Melalui pilar pendidikan karakter seperti moral knowing, moral modelling, moral feeling dan moral action, diharapkan dapat membentuk sikap kritis generasi muda sebagai digital citizenship sehingga dapat meminimalisir dampak negatif era digital terutama masalah degradasi moral.
