Abstract

This study intended to know the effectiveness of E. purpurea as an immunomodulator against AI and ND antibody titer in male broilers, and conducted in December 2018 until January 2019 at Lapang Terpadu Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Antibody titer analysis was done in Virology Laboratory of Balai Veteriner Lampung. The study was conducted on 60 samples of Lohmann male broiler with four treatments, P0 (drinking water without E. purpurea), P1 (drinking water with 3 mg/kg BW/day E. purpurea), P2 (drinking water with 6 mg/kg BW/day E. purpurea), and P3 (drinking water with 9 mg/kg BW/day E. purpurea). The results showed that E. purpurea (Radix) was effective to increase Avian Influenza antibody titers and was not effective to increase Newcastle Disease antibody titers in male broilers. E. purpurea (Radix) at a dose of 6 mg/kg BW/day can increase AI antibody titer in male broilers. Keywords: E. purpurea, Immunomodulator, Antibody titer, Avian Influenza, Newcastle Disease

Abstract

Technological progress is unavoidable at this time, but not all people are able to optimize the existence of digital technology due to limited access and to qualified knowledge of technological developments. This condition has an impact on MSME owners who admit that it is difficult to expand their market reach. The purpose of community service activities is to provide solutions to problems faced by MSME owners through socializing the use of website-based digital technology to support MSME activities. The implementation of socialization activities is carried out using lecture methods, discussions, and directions related to websites with previously created domains. Based on data from observations made, it is known that 20 owners of MSME in Margo Lestari Village, Jati Agung District, South Lampung Regency have never used a website. The response of the participants in the socialization was generally good and positive, this can be seen based on the high enthusiasm of the participants to ask questions during the discussion session and fill in data to register their MSMEs on the website, so it is hoped that with this outreach activity, MSME owners can expand their market reach especially to the city of Bandar Lampung. Abstract

This study aims to identify the differences in agroecological zones on changes in body weight, litter size, and profitability of Bligon goats in Bantul District, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This study involved 56 farmers consisting of 11 farmers in coastal areas (zone IV), 21 farmers in the lowlands (zone IV), and 24 farmers in hilly areas (zones I, II, and III). This study also used 120 does of Bligon goats consisting of 40 goats from each area. The farmers and Bligon goats were selected by purposive sampling technique in different agroecological zones classified based on the slope of the land. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the agroecological zones as a treatment factor. This study used a survey method. Data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using one-way ANOVA at the 5% level. The results showed that the body weight of Bligon goats from the beginning of kidding to three months or at the weaning period did not have a significant difference, and the litter size was also not significantly different. Profitability analysis using Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C Ratio) and Return on Investment (ROI) showed that farmers in coastal agroecological zones have higher profitability than those in lowland and hilly agroecological zones with a net cash flow of IDR 1,219,000, 00, R/C Ratio of 1.43, and ROI of 44.26. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that changes in body weight and litter size of Bligon goats in different agroecological zones are the same. Based on the profitability analysis, all farmers in different agroecological zones benefit from raising Bligon goats, but the highest profitability is found in farmers in the coastal agroecological zone

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of adding turmeric flour in the ration on feed consumption, daily body weight gain and feed conversion of Jawarandu Goats. This research was conducted in Adi Jaya Village, Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments with each treatment repeated 4 times, while the treatments were as follows: P0 = ration without the addition of turmeric flour, P1 = ration + 0.25% turmeric flour, P2 = Ration + 0.5% turmeric flour for 30 days. They were fed BNR complete feed as control ration were containing 12% crude protein and 70% total digestible nutrient. The addition of Turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica) up to 0,50% on ration had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of Jawarandu goat.
