Abstract

The aim of this research is to be searched about aesthetic and historical background that includes the shape, meaning, and function as well as the factors that underlie keris kamardikan in Surakarta. The analysis of the keris kamardikan Surakarta is not a simple matter.  The question such as: what keris kamardikan is; why it had been created; when it start created; whose the man behind of created; where place that keris kamardikan has been exsist; and how about the histocal about it. Change of palace culture maybe happen to the progresive culture with any perception. It can be indicated like social criticism movement in postmodern age, such as: happening art, environmental art, etc. While the factors underlie the similarities and differences are the internal and external factors. The Internal factors are the rules and policy stated by the actor in this regions. The external factor is the factor happens because the society social condition that is more developed as well as the policy of the government of Republic of Indonesia in the tourism sector. The method used in the research is qualitative research with multidicipline approach focusing on the study of art. Aesthetic approach is used for relating the style of art.  This approach is used with other approaches and use the relevant teories such as: history, communication, anthropology, archeology, and sociology. This research has conelude that movemen of keris kamardikan Surakarta is in the structure or style. Historical background of movement started on 1970 in case of many keris artist in Surakarta created it with many purposed, basicly keris Kamardikan Surakarta have two poin of movement, there are an aesthetic and historical.Keyword: keris, kamardikan, Surakarta, aesthetic, and history.

Abstract

Currently, the traditional art of ceramics or potteries is required to meet high standardof quality of materials, techniques, shapes, and finishing process. The creative finishing ofboth functional and non-functional ceramic or pottery products can be an appropriate solutionfor higher aesthetic values. Finishing through the making of centre of interest can servedecorative art element in order to qualify global market demand. A great number oftraditional artisans have failed to have improved innovation in the designs and finishingtechniques of functional products due to the limited knowledge in shape exploration and falseassumption that they are difficult, costly, and time-consuming.This is an applied study to explore improved creativity and finishing techniques forceramics or potteries in order to result in competitive advantage in the global market throughcraft awareness. Finishing process is the final touch to have up-to-date trend and higher sellingprice of the products. This study is attempting to identify the most suitable composition offinishing process by ideal, cheap, and effective electroplating technique to result in globallycompetitive products. Such this finishing process is also expected to contribute to thedevelopment of design trend in both national and international ceramic market.Currently creative functional ceramics/potteries have attracted both domestic andinternational consumers. Extrapolating technique in ceramic finishing process is very attractiveand is expected to improve the quality of ceramic art which in turn, will lead to competitiveadvantage in global market and better economic return for the artisans. Key words: extrapolating finishing, ceramic / pottery, creative product, global market  Seni keramik dan gerabah tradisional pada era sekarang dituntut mampu memenuhistandar kualitas baik dari segi, bahan, teknik, bentuk, dan finishingnya. Finishing baru padaproduk keramik/gerabah kreatif baik fungsional maupun non fungsional mampu menjadisolusi yang tepat untuk membantu memperindah bentuk produk. Finishing dengan membuatcentre of interest mampu menjadi unsur seni hias, sehingga dapat memenuhi keinginan pasarglobal. Kalangan pengrajin tradisional banyak yang belum melakukan inovasi desain produkfungsional dan meningkatkan teknik finishing dan hanya pasrah dengan finishing yang ada,dikarenakan minimnya pengetahuan dalam melakukan ekplorasi bentuk dan inovasi yangdianggap sulit, memerlukan biaya besar, dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian terapan yang mengarah pada pencapaian disainproduk kreatif dan mutu finishing pada produk seni keramik/gerabah dalam rangka memenangkan pasar global atau craft awareness di dunia internasional. Finishing merupakanteknik akhir dalam menyelesaikan produk agar menjadi lebih baik, menyelaraskan dengantrend desain terkini, dan mampu mengangkat harga jual suatu produk. Penelitian ini akanmenemukan komposisi finishing dengan metode elektroplating yang ideal, mudah, dan efektifsebagai upaya memberikan pengembangan finishing produk-produk kreatif yang mampubersaing pada pasar global. Finishing ini juga menjadi salah satu bagian menciptakan trenddesain dalam pasar keramik secara nasional maupun internasional.Produk keramik/gerabah fungsional kreatif saat ini banyak diminati oleh konsumen,baik dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Teknik finishing dengan metode elektroplatingakan menjadi salah satu daya tarik tersendiri dan mampu meningkatkan mutu produksi senigerabah yang akan memberikan dampak kemajuan pada seni tradisional di era pasar global.Sehingga mampu memberikan keunggulan yang berdampak pada penghasilan ekonomikesejahteraan kepada para pelaku keramik/gerabah tradisional. Kata kunci: finishing elektroplating, keramik/gerabah, produk kreatif, pasar global

Abstract

Finishing Research The combination of Patina and electroplating has been carried out according to the research target, which has been able to identify metal materials, especially brass and copper. Bronze and copper Patenting techniques with various jewelry forms. The form of jewelry created amongst other things: bracelets, pendants, jewelry earrings are made with solder technique, tatah, and saws. Before the author experiment and apply patina and electroplating as the main finishing on jewelry on the work of creation. The author first conducted patina and electroplating tests to brass and copper plates with size 2 x 3 cm. The process and results of this research experiment is the answer and the first step which has successfully conducted various scientific experiments with found patina finishing formula with the ideal chemical mixing composition. Research on patina and electroplating experiments can be a contribution to the progress of finishing. Patina finishing research is preferred in brass and copper.Finishing is the finishing touch of a product with a better purpose, such as increasing the quality of the ingredients, increasing the decorative value, increasing the aesthetic value of a product, following the latest design trends, and can increase the selling value of a product. This research is a new research that has not been there before with the method of merging patina and electroplating techniques will be a trend finishing and as a pioneer finishing on jewelry with brass and copper. Keywords: jewelry finishing experiment, patination finishing, finishing electroplating  Percobaah finishing kombinasi patina dan electroplating telah dilakukan sesuai dengan target penelitian, yang telah mampu mengidentifikasi bahan logam, khususnya kuningan dan tembaga. Teknik Paten Perunggu dan Tembaga dengan berbagai bentuk perhiasan. Bentuk perhiasan yang dibuat antara lain: gelang, liontin, anting perhiasan dibuat dengan teknik solder, tatah, dan gergaji. Sebelum penulis bereksperimen dan menerapkan patina dan pelapisan sebagai finishing utama pada perhiasan pada karya penciptaan. Penulis pertama kali melakukan tes patina dan elektroplating untuk pelat kuningan dan tembaga dengan ukuran 2 x 3 cm. Proses dan hasil percobaan penelitian ini adalah jawaban dan langkah pertama yang berhasil melakukan berbagai percobaan ilmiah dengan menemukan formula finishing patina dengan komposisi pencampuran kimia yang ideal. Penelitian tentang percobaan patina dan elektroplating dapat menjadi kontribusi bagi kemajuan penyelesaian. Penelitian finishing Patina lebih disukai di kuningan dan tembaga. Finishing adalah sentuhan akhir dari produk dengan tujuan yang lebih baik, seperti meningkatkan kualitas bahan, meningkatkan nilai dekoratif, meningkatkan nilai estetika suatu produk, mengikuti tren desain terbaru, dan dapat meningkatkan nilai jual suatu produk. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian baru yang belum pernah ada sebelumnya dengan metode penggabungan patina dan teknik elektroplating akan menjadi tren finishing dan sebagai pelopor finishing pada perhiasan dengan kuningan dan tembaga. Kata kunci: percobaan finishing perhiasan, finishing patinasi, finishing electroplating

Abstract

Sengkalan constitutes a form of the Javanese society expressions. Sengkalan lamba has three elements, namely: sentence or words, figure, and year. Sengkalan casquette is a marker visualized in the form of pictures, patrimonies, statues, ornaments, carts representing an intention to deliver a particular message. Presenting sengkalan in a wording based on meanings and characteristics which refer to the sun, months, nature and forms to express the contents of intention loaded in the sentences. Developed from words and having presentation of word, a figur relates to synonyms, sound spelling, things and actions, similar intentions and meanings, and similarity in particular things, and so on. The substance-loads of sengkalan indicate a picture of certain situation and time, and express events occuring at particular times and places.Keywords: candrasengkala, suryasengkala, picture, ornament, figure
