Abstract

One of the main characteristics of implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka is project-based learning, which aims to develop soft skills and build profiles of Pancasila character in students. Project-based learning is a learning model that emphasizes projects or student activities as the core learning. Students can explore, assess, interpret, and synthesize in the learning process. Project-based learning models have significant advantages and are valuable for students. Still, project-based learning models are rarely used by teachers because their implementation requires sufficient preparation and takes a long time. Therefore, further analysis is needed to determine the effectiveness of using project-based learning in the Kurikulum Merdeka. This study aims to analyze the efficacy of the project-based learning model in the Kurikulum Merdeka. Through this analysis, it is hoped that it will maximize the strengths and minimize weaknesses of project-based learning to build Pancasila's character in students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through literature study by reviewing books, articles, journals, and other sources of information relevant to project-based learning and the Kurikulum Merdeka. From this literature study, it was found that PjBL is a learning strategy that is very suitable to improve the profile of Pancasila students because PjBL has the advantage of being able to improve learning outcomes, achievement, motivation, and 4C abilities (collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creative thinking) of students. AbstrakSalah satu karakteristik utama dalam penerapan kurikulum merdeka adalah pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang bertujuan mengembangkan soft skill dan membangun karakter profil pelajar Pancasila pada peserta didik. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek adalah model pembelajaran yang menekankan pada proyek atau kegiatan sebagai inti pembelajaran. Dalam proses belajar peserta didik dapat melakukan eksplorasi, penilaian, interpretasi, dan sintesis. Model pembelajaran berbasis proyek memiliki keunggulan sangat penting dan bermanfaat bagi siswa, namun model pembelajaran berbasis proyek jarang digunakan oleh guru karena dalam pelaksanaannya memerlukan persiapan yang cukup dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan analisis lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam kurikulum merdeka. Studi ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis kelebihan dan kekurangan dari pembelajaran berbasis proyek untuk penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Melalui analisis tersebut, diharapkan kedepannya dapat memaksimalkan kekuatan, meminimalkan kelemahan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui studi kepustakaan dengan telaah buku, artikel, jurnal, dan sumber informasi lainnya yang relevan dengan PjBL dan kurikulum merdeka. Dari studi literatur ini ditemukan bahwa PjBL merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang sangat sesuai untuk meningkatkan profil pelajar Pancasila karena PjBL memiliki kelebihan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar, prestasi, motivasi, dan kemampuan 4C (collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creative thinking) dari peserta didik.Kata Kunci: Karakter Pancasila; Kurikulum Merdeka; project-based learning

Abstract

21st century skills are important skills that every student must have to be prepared to face global challenges. One of the innovative learning models that can improve 21st century skills is project-based learning. Project Based Learning is one of the main characteristics in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to analyze the 21st century skills of students in the implementation of project based learning in merdeka curriculum especially in the biology subject. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with case study strategy. Data were obtained from the observation process. The observation instrument used represents four categories of 21st century skills namely critical thinking, creativity and inovation, communication, and collaboration. Based on the results, it can be known that communication skills have the most approaching standard and standard categories among other skills. Furthermore, for creativity and innovation, in this study the results show that there are still many students in the category below standard and approaching standard. Therefore, it can be concluded from the results of the study that most of student  are still at an intermediate level for 21st century skills but the results might different depending on the grade level,  characteristics students, subject area and teacher
