Abstract

Nowadays, many companies, organizations, hospitals and individuals have adopted centralized data storage systems to store and share data. However, these systems create a single point of failure and involve a centralized entity or third party, which can cause concern for users. Decentralized storage systems are therefore needed to overcome the drawbacks of the traditional approach. However, in the face of centralization issues, this paper proposes a combination of Hyperledger Fabric, InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), and proxy re-encryption to enhance the security and transparency features of decentralized storage systems. Thus, the proposed scheme provides a secure decentralized system storage of medical information using a consortium blockchain

Abstract

This study examines how local mainstream media in China construct “warm power” through localized international communication practices, taking Guangxi’s Thailand-oriented communication as the primary case, with Yunnan’s Myanmar-oriented practices as a comparative reference. Against the backdrop of deepening China–ASEAN relations and the limitations of traditional soft power in the social media era, the study adopts a qualitative case-based design integrating document analysis, qualitative content analysis, and comparative interpretation. The findings reveal that Guangxi’s international communication has evolved from fragmented media operations toward a coordinated warm power ecosystem characterized by strategic hub coordination, platform-based audience segmentation, culturally localized narratives, and sustained affective interaction. Through Thai-localized storytelling, people-centered everyday narratives, and integrated online–offline engagement, Guangxi’s media practices have shifted the logic of influence from symbolic image display to relationship-oriented communication, fostering emotional resonance, trust, and early forms of cross-cultural affective communities. Comparative observations from Yunnan further demonstrate that cultural proximity, audience segmentation, and “warm interaction” are key enabling conditions for warm power diffusion in Southeast Asia. Theoretically, this study advances the concept of warm power as a form of relational influence grounded in affective connectivity and sustained interaction, enriching international communication theory with a regionally embedded perspective. Practically, it highlights the unique role of local media as affective interfaces in China’s international communication system and offers insights for enhancing people-to-people connectivity and cross-cultural understanding in the ASEAN context.

Abstract

From the intergenerational wealth transfer perspective, this study explores motivations and practical significance of women’s land rights protection in Nanning’s (Guangxi, China) urban villages. Empirical research on Xingxing and Guanguan Villages shows traditional gender norms and institutional exclusion in village rules restrict married women’s land inheritance rights. Besides, "sonless families" see gender-discriminatory policy implementation, and migrant brides/sons-in-law face unequal rights allocation. The study reveals land rights are not just economic assets but core for intergenerational wealth transmission. Women use legal litigation, identity strategies and public advocacy to defend rights, essentially challenging the patriarchal structure. It also finds depriving women of land rights worsens poverty intergenerational transmission ("mothers’ poverty weakens sons’ prospects"). Based on relevant theories, it proposes revising the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Rural Collective Economic Organizations, setting up village rule review mechanisms and promoting gender equality awareness, to support a fair land rights protection system amid urban-rural integration.
