Abstract

Low learning motivation of student at elementary schools becomes a problem for students as well as teacher. Low motivation will affect the students’ achievement. This also will make teachers difficult to meet the learning aims. This problem needs solution. Teachers need to use contain models of teaching and learning activities in order to improve the students’ motivation. One of model used by the writer is picture and picture model. Picture and picture model of teaching and learning is model in which teacher use pictures as the main component. Briefly, students should arrange the picture. Chronologically in order that they become a story. Students do this activity in groups. Using the picture and picture model of teaching and learning result in the higher motivation of students in learning. In addition, the teaching learning activity become more interesting to students.

Abstract

The use of learning media is very influential on the learning process. Image media is a form and channel that can be used in the process of presenting information. The natural environment is needed to provide real experience in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to improve social studies learning outcomes on natural features in the local environment for fourth graders at SDN Pudak, Tepus. This research uses classroom action research method. The research subjects were students of class IV SDN Pudak Tepus totaling 8 students, consisting of 3 boys and 5 girls. The data processing procedure is carried out through a flow process consisting of four stages, namely: 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation; 4) reflection. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes, namely: (1) Pre-cycle, as many as 3 students (37.5%) achieved mastery learning; (2) the first cycle, as many as 6 students (75%) were able to achieve complete learning; and (3) cycle II, as many as 8 students (100%) were able to achieve complete learning. Based on these data, it can be concluded that by using media images and the natural surroundings can improve student social studies learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of picture card learning media to 8th grade students of Baitul Quran Ponjong Middle School after using picture card learning media on the subject of Change in Colonial Society and the Growth of National Spirit. This research is experimental in nature so that the method used is a quantitative method. The research subjects were 8th grade students of Baitul Quran Ponjong Middle School with a total population of 30 people. The research sample was taken using simple random sampling technique. There was a fairly high increase from the average pretest to posttest scores after being given treatment in the form of picture card learning media, the comparison was 25.7 or an increase of 47.8%.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to improve student achievement in thematic learning with the demonstration method in class 1 SDN Tepus 1. This research is a class action research (classroom action research). The research subjects were the first grade students of SDN Tepus 1 Gunungkidul Regency for the academic year 2021/2022 (22 students), comprising of 14 boys and 8 girls. Data processing techniques are using observation, tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used data triangulation, by comparing the increase in the acquisition of student scores as illustrated by the pre and post test data. The results showed an increase in student learning activity, namely: (1) In cycle 1, 10 students (45.45%) achieved mastery learning; (2) In cycle II, 19 students (86.36%) were able to achieve complete learning; and (3) In cycle III, 22 students (100%) were able to achieve complete learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is that the lack of social studies learning achievement is caused by the selection of learning methods that do not increase students' motivation and activeness in participating in learning. Given that the learning process is very large in determining the success of students, it is necessary to conduct research on learning improvements. The purpose of this study is to prove that the application of the group work method can improve student learning achievement regarding the material for maintaining personal documents and valuables for fourth grade students at SDN Gading Asri, Playen, Gunungkisul, Academic Year 2021/2022. The research was carried out in 2 cycles consisting of cycle 1 on 20 and 22 August 2021. then cycle 2 will be held on 27 and 29 August 2021. Each cycle consists of several stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data collected is analyzed at each stage of the cycle with quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the improvement of learning through the group work method in social studies subjects for fourth grade students at SDN Gading Asri in the 2021/2022 academic year can be increased. This can be seen from the increase in the average score of students starting from pre-cycle activities, namely 66, after the action in the first cycle increased to 73 then after the second cycle of action the average value increased again to 84.
