Abstract

Sheep farms in Cicurug District, Sukabumi were traditional farm with small ownership scale. A common case of fecal infection is fasciolosis. Therefore this research was focused on the case of fasciolosis. This study aimed to determine (1) prevalence of fasciolosis case (number of case/positive test) (2) the severity of the attack/incidence. Identification of worm eggs in the feces was done by sedimentation and floating method. Number of worm eggs per gram of feses in each sample was also calculated to know the severity of infestation. The results showed that Fasciola sp. was found in 7 of 100 sheep samples (7% of the total sample). Thus the prevalence of fasciolosis was 7%. The severity of fasciolosis on the 7 sheep averaged 0.4 eggs per gram of feces. It can be concluded that the prevalence and the severity of the attack/incidence of fasciolosis in Cicurug District was low.

Abstract

Rhinosinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, accompanied by two or more symptoms, one of which is nasal blockage/obstruction/congestion) or nasal discharge (anterior/posterior nasal drip). Anamnesis, recording of signals, clinical examination, laboratory examination (complete hematological examination and Gram staining of mucopurulent nasal secretions) and Sinar–X were performed on Nobel kangaroo. Regarding the anamnesis and physical/clinical examination, the Nobel kangaroo in Australiana Zone TSI II was seen to have mucopurulent secretions on its nose and decreased activity. After hematological examination of the blood, Gram staining of mucopurulent nasal secretion bacteria, and supporting examinations in sinar–X examination, the Nobel kangaroo was diagnosed with rhinosinusitis caused by a bacterial infection. The prognosis for this case is Fausta – dubious. Fausta with treatment, dubious if no rhinosinusitis surgery is done. Handling/therapy is administered by antibiotic therapy, nebulizer/steam therapy, multivitamins, and multi-minerals were given orally and inhalation.
