Abstract

Reading the Bible as spiritual discipline is a very important part of every Christians’ life. Through Bible reading one might build closer relationships with the Triune God, growing in the knowledge of God, aware of the sins, and build good Christian character. But Z generation are no longer concerned with this spiritual discipline as it is influenced by the negative aspects of advanced technological developments. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the importance of the spiritual discipline of Bible reading to students. The Bible reading Journal is one of the guidelines that directs students to read the Bible every day according to the part that has been planned. The process of spiritual discipline to read the Bible is the work of the Holy Spirit to every believer in helping them to have a relationship with Triune God. The conclusion is that the Bible reading journal is a practical step in building the spiritual discipline of reading the Bible that can involve the cooperation between parents and teachers.

Abstract

Levels of anxiety and self-esteem often affect students’ lives, even causing students to fail, unable to fulfil the academic requirements of lectures, and undergo the entire educational process. As a matter of fact, in general, students are not aware of this reality. Therefore, this study aims to find whether there is a relationship between the level of self-esteem and anxiety levels in Christian Religion Education students at UPH. In order to find the relationship between self-esteem and anxiety levels, this research is conducted in quantitative methods and the type of research is correlational. The sample is collecting between January and June 2019. As the results, students who classified as low self-esteem is 55% meanwhile 54% of students who have high levels of anxiety. The correlation between the two is -0.6. The negative correlation results indicate that the lower level of self-esteem will make the level of anxiety higher. The results of this study can be used to determine interventions, either through coaching, personal counselling, or through group therapy.

Abstract

Christian education is a God-centred education, having a transformative and holistic purpose to reconcile students who have fallen into sin and restore the image of God in students. Teachers as transformative and holistic agents need to have the right perspective on students. The teacher's perspective on students will affect the pedagogical competence of the teacher. A good pedagogical competence can create meaningful learning. However, in reality, secular philosophy has influenced teachers in achieving educational purpose as well as the way teachers view students. Secular education makes the teacher as the centre of education and views the students as machines or robots that receive knowledge according to what the teacher delivers. The purpose of this study is to examine the importance of pedagogical competence of teachers in Christian philosophy. This study uses a literature review method by researching several theories and journals. The results showed that it is important for Christian teachers as co-workers of God to develop pedagogical competence. Through this competence, it will help Christian teachers in applying learning methods that are able to transform students to be more like Christ. In conclusion, the basic thing that teachers need to have is awareness and humility to continuously learn and develop every ability they have as a form of accountability before God. BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Pendidikan Kristen adalah pendidikan yang berpusat pada Tuhan, yang memiliki tujuan transformatif dan holistik untuk mendamaikan siswa yang telah jatuh ke dalam dosa dan memulihkan gambar Allah dalam diri siswa. Guru sebagai agen transformatif dan holistik perlu memiliki cara pandang yang tepat terhadap siswa. Cara pandang guru terhadap siswa akan mempengaruhi kompetensi pedagogis yang dimiliki oleh guru. Kompetensi pedagogis yang baik dapat menciptakan pembelajaran yang bermakna. Namun pada kenyataannya, filosofi sekuler telah mempengaruhi guru dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan dan juga cara pandang guru terhadap siswa. Pendidikan sekuler menjadikan guru sebagai pusat pendidikan dan memandang siswa sebagai mesin atau robot yang menerima pengetahuan sesuai dengan apa yang disampaikan oleh guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pentingnya kompetensi pedagogis guru dalam filsafat Kristen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan literatur dengan menelaah beberapa teori dan jurnal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penting bagi guru Kristen sebagai rekan sekerja Tuhan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi pedagogis. Melalui kompetensi ini, akan menolong guru Kristen dalam menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang mampu mentransformasi siswa menjadi semakin serupa dengan Kristus. Kesimpulannya, hal mendasar yang perlu dimiliki oleh para guru adalah kesadaran dan kerendahan hati untuk terus belajar dan mengembangkan setiap kemampuan yang dimilikinya sebagai bentuk pertanggungjawaban di hadapan Tuhan.

Abstract

Mahasiswa sebagai agen perubahan memiliki peran penting dalam membangun kesadaran lingkungan di tengah masyarakat. Melalui program Zero Waste Lifestyle: Implementasi Desa Sadar Lingkungan Berbasis Aplikasi Digital PADU e-Trash yang dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Kepala Dua, tim PPK Ormawa membagi tanggung jawab secara terstruktur untuk memastikan keberhasilan kegiatan. Pada tahap persiapan, dilakukan diskusi bersama perangkat desa dan masyarakat guna mengidentifikasi permasalahan utama serta merancang solusi yang relevan, yaitu meningkatkan kesadaran akan pengelolaan sampah. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan pembelian perlengkapan untuk bank sampah dan perencanaan pelatihan kerajinan dari sampah. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, tim mahasiswa secara bergantian melakukan kunjungan ke desa sebanyak delapan kali untuk mendistribusikan perlengkapan dan membimbing warga dalam pengolahan sampah menjadi barang bernilai guna seperti vas bunga dari botol plastik dan pupuk kompos dari sampah organik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mendaur ulang sampah serta meningkatkan kreativitas dan kemandirian dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme warga dalam mengikuti pelatihan dan mulai menerapkan praktik daur ulang di kehidupan sehari-hari.
