Abstract

This research aims to identify the mathematical objects contained in the cultural products of the Kembang Kerang’s sosieties in East Lombok and its implementation in islamic educational institution. The research data was obtained by conducting cultural site studies as well as observations and interviews with informants who at the same time, became cultural actors and mathematics teachers at the research location. Results of the study show that cultural products were found in namely ragong gula gending, parane, kereng sesek, and caraken that contained the objects of mathematics in the form of flat building and building space consisting of links, cubes, tubes, squares, symmetrical flat shapes, and burial. Learning mathematics by utilizing Sasak cultural products carried out in islamic education institutions in MI NW Kembang Kerang shown good results on the implementation of learning, achieving ideal time of learning activities of students and teachers, positive responses from students after following the learning process, and changes in learning outcomes from before and after learning is done.

Abstract

This article try to describe the role of Tuan guru Hasanain Djuani in environmental conservation project. As leader of  Pesantren Nurul Haramain, he does not merely focus on transfering religious knowledge theoritically in Pesantren, but he also engages with sosio-ecological issues practically. Since 2003, he begun his foresty project in environmental conservation and economic empowerment by involving his santries and local societies at desa Lembuak, Narmada, West Lombok. This research  uses a qualitative approach. Data collection originates from objects in the field, interviews with actors (tuan guru, santri, and  local  community), then is linked to solving a problem, both from a theoretical and practical point of view. This research found several things; first,  conservation project had succesfully reforested 36 hectare land. Second, Hasanain’s  environmental conservation projet motivated by religious values. Third, Tuan guru Hasanain use social media (facebook) as a tool to campaign his ecoda’wah agendas to the soceity.Tulisan ini mengeksplorasi proyek konservasi lingkungan tuan Guru Hasanain. Sebagai pemimpin pesantren ia tidak hanya fokus pada transfer ilmu keislaman secara teoritis di pesantre. pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis pondok pesantren. Namun dia terlibat dalam isu krisis lingkungan. Sejak 2003, di telah memulai program penghijaun dan pemberdayaan bersama santri dan masyarakat sekitar di desa Lembuak, Naramada Lombok Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan observasi secara langsung dan tidak lansung (kepada Tuan guru, Santri dan masyarakat). Kajian ini diawali dengan argumentasi bahwa tuan guru telah mengalami evolusi peran, yakni tidak hanya dikenal sebagai tokoh agama tradisional, akan tetapi juga merupakan aktivis sosial  dalam proyek konservasi lingkungan. Penelitian ini menemukan beberapa hal: pertama, proyek konservasi yang dipimpin Hasanain sukses menghijaukan 36 hektare lahan tandus. Kedua, konservasi lingkungan yang dilakukan Hasanain didorong dan motivasi olehnilai-nilai agama. Ketiga, tuan gru Hasanain memanfaatkan media sosial facebook sebagai instrumen ec-da’wah, dan tentu saja langkah itu cukup berpengaruh bagi pembentukan kesadaran masyarakat.

Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah Bayyinul Ulum Santong has quite a number of certified teachers as capital in developing madrasas to become excellent madrasas. Human resources: teachers as a strategic component in supporting the quality of learning need to be improved on an ongoing basis, one of which is training or Classroom Action Research (CAR) workshops. This activity aims to improve the quality of learning in the classroom. The participants in this activity were all 14 subject certification teachers in the Madrasah Aliyah Bayyinul Ulum environment. The method of activities used is workshops and training with 3 main activities, namely deepening the material and compiling the PTK proposal through workshops, planning PTK through group discussion activities (Focus Group discussions), and implementing PTK through guidance on the implementation of PTK. The result is that the teachers understand better CAR, and realize the urgency of CAR in improving the quality of learning in the classroom. With the practical ability to compile proposals and to be followed up by research activities, a research culture will be built among teachers as a solution in solving various learning problems which in turn will increase the competence of teacher professionalism itself

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in order to increase public self-awareness during the Covid-19 pandemic in several villages including Prai Meke Village, Tamansari Village, Babusssalam Village, Sesela Village, and Montong Terep Village. The methods used in community service are socialization and question and answer. The data collection used is observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this community service are in the form of increasing public understanding of the importance of 6M and vaccination in the midst of a pandemic which is expected to be able to embrace the community in several villages in dealing with Covid-19 so that they are stronger in maintaining the readiness and protecting themselves from being exposed to an increasingly rampant pandemic.

Abstract

[English]: Mathematics connection support students finding various possible strategies in problem-solving. Cultural products can be used as mathematical objects in learning. This article, part of a study that designed culture-based learning, aims to identify students' mathematics connection. Data was collected through a test given to 341 students and unstructured interviews of nine students selected based on the completion of the test, which fulfills mathematization steps. Data analysis began by classifying students’ answers based on mathematization, identifying mathematics connection of students according to mathematization, analyzing students’ mathematics connection, and drawing conclusions about mathematics connection and the constraints found. The results showed that students' mathematics connections include three categories, namely understanding connection, representation connection, and justification connection. Students with justification connection solved mathematical problems according to mathematization steps, from the identification of mathematical objects to formal mathematics. Meanwhile, students with understanding and representation connection solved their respective mathematical problems up to the concrete and formal stages. The findings reveal that culture-based mathematics learning provides space to understand students' mathematics connection. Further research is required to prove that it can be used to develop students' mathematics connection. Keywords: Mathematics learning, Culture, Mathematics connection [Bahasa]: Koneksi matematika mendukung siswa menemukan berbagai kemungkinan strategi dalam penyelesaian masalah. Produk budaya memungkinkan dapat dijadikan objek matematika dalam pembelajaran. Artikel ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian yang merancang desain pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal yang bertujuan mengidentifikasi kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes yang diberikan kepada 341 siswa dan wawancara tidak terstruktur terhadap 9 siswa yang dipilih berdasarkan penyelesaian tes sesuai proses matematisasi. Analisis data diawali dengan klasifikasi jawaban siswa berdasarkan tahapan matematisasi, identifikasi kemampuan koneksi matematika sesuai tahapan matematisasi, analisis kemampuan koneksi matematis, dan penarikan simpulan terkait kemampuan koneksi matematika serta kendala yang ditemukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa meliputi tiga kategori yaitu koneksi pemahaman, koneksi representasi, dan koneksi justifikasi. Siswa dengan kemampuan koneksi justifikasi bisa menyelesaikan masalah matematika sesuai tahapan matematisasi, dari identifikasi objek matematika sampai matematika formal. Sementara itu, siswa yang memiliki kemampuan koneksi pemahaman dan representasi menyelesaikan masalah matematika masing-masing sampai pada tahap model kongkret dan model formal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis budaya memberikan ruang untuk memahami kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa. Penelitian lebih lanjut dibutuhkan untuk menunjukkan pembelajaran berbasis budaya bisa digunakan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa. Abstract

This participatory action research-based service activity aims to find out the reality of early marriage which is one of the threats in destroying the younger generation. This needs serious attention from varies parties related parties, especially institutions related to this issue. To reduce the culture of early marriage through KKP-DR UIN Mataram activities, there are several programs related to efforts to reduce early marriage during the current pandemic. Data were collected by observation and interview methods with various informants, namely the community and village officials in Sesela, Tamansari, Jerigo and Montong Betok villages. The form of the program used is a socialization program. From the results of feedback and evaluation after the socialization program, it was found that public knowledge about the impact of early marriage is increasing, especially their awareness which is manifested by more intensely providing direction and advice between fellow citizens, especially to their children.
