Abstract

Abstract: The implementation of this school action research departs from the background of the need for reform in teaching and learning activities both carried out by teachers and by students in particular. The method used in this research is the School Action Research method. This research was conducted by increasing teacher discipline by implementing the use of the Reward and Punishment system at SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Pulau district Asahan for the school year 2019/2020. The results of the first cycle research obtained that the teacher's delay rate in class more than 15 minutes in the process of teaching and learning activities was still high, namely 4 people (36.4%), after the second cycle there were no more teachers who were late for class more than 15 minutes in the learning process. teach. It can be concluded that the application of Reward and Punishment can improve teacher discipline to attend class in teaching and learning activities at SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Pulau. Keywords: discipline; punishments; rewards; teacher presence  Abstrak: Dilaksanakannya penelitian tindakan sekolah ini berangkat dari latar belakang perlunya pembaruan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar baik yang dilakukan oleh guru maupun oleh siswa khususnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru dengan melaksa-nakan penggunaan sistem Reward dan Punishment di SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Pulau kabupaten Asahan tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Hasil penelitian siklus I diperoleh tingkat keterlambatan guru  masuk kelas lebih dari 15 menit pada proses kegiatan belajar mengajar masih tinggi yaitu 4 orang (36,4%), setelah siklus II tidak ada lagi guru yang terlambat masuk kelas lebih dari 15 menit pada proses kegiatan belajar mengajar. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Reward dan Punishment dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru untuk hadir didalam kelas pada kegiatan belajar mengajar di SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Pulau. Kata Kunci: disiplin; kehadiran guru; punishment; reward
