Abstract

Abstract

Testing research instruments can be done using several applications such as SPSS, AMOS, Lisrell, and several other applications. However, the use of these applications encounters several obstacles for its users, the first is that some of these applications are paid, the costs that are not small to buy a license for this application often force users to use a pirated version of the application, which of course is detrimental for developers and tarnish the world of education itself. And the second is that the use of this application sometimes confuses the users, the cause is that the items in the application are too complex, making it difficult to use, and in some applications, there are demands that users have an understanding of programming to be able to use the application. Therefore, in this research, a web-based application was developed to test the validity and reliability of research instruments that are free of charge and easy to use by academics and researchers (this application is then called CAMI). The stages taken in this research are the study of the theory of testing the validity and reliability of the research instrument, collecting data, compiling the syntax for making applications, installing applications on a web server (so that they can be accessed online), and testing applications from the data obtained. The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from theses and journals. Furthermore, the data is used to test the web application that has been created, then the results of the test data output are compared with the test results using the SPSS application with the same data. From the test results, it was found that both validity and reliability tests gave the same output 100% as the SPSS application.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the process of solving arithmetic problems for students with disabilities. The research method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR method is used to identify, review, evaluate, and interpret all available research with topic areas of interest. Data collection is done by documenting and reviewing all articles related to solving arithmetic problems. The articles used were 5 articles. The results showed that the process of solving arithmetic problems for students with disabilities was different. Students with disabilities experience many obstacles in solving arithmetic problems, especially in counting numbers from 10 to 100. Students with disabilities have difficulty understanding language. At other times, students with disabilities use procedures, strategies, and the desire to be active in the learning process. It is recommended for further researchers to develop special tools for students with disabilities.

Abstract

[English]: The purpose of this study was to identify students’ difficulties in establishing mathematical connections in productive connective thinking to solve mathematical problems. Students’ difficulties were identified from which the students did not develop connection ideas after reflection at the stages of Toshio’s (2000) cognition scheme. The purposive sampling was used to select 2 out of 85 11th-grade students who had taken the initial test in order to measure their connective thinking. Students’ works and the transcript of think-aloud and interviews with two students were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. It reveals that students indicate various difficulties in developing connections. At the cognition stage, students had difficulty establishing a connection idea for solutions, since they were not able to collect appropriate data and did not verify the initial data to understand the direction of solving the problem. At the inference stage, students were difficult to establish a procedure connection because they could not plan an effective strategy of problem-solving. At the formulation stage, students had difficulty establishing numerical connections since they did not verify the data and did not have sufficient understanding of the concepts to formulate the problem. At the reconstruction stage, students found it difficult to establish generalization connections because of being not motivated to solve the problems and not doing a comprehensive generalization and evaluation towards the problem-solving. Keywords: Connective thinking, Mathematical connections, Reflection, Toshio thinking scheme [Bahasa]: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kesulitan siswa membangun koneksi matematis dalam berpikir konektif produktif untuk memecahkan masalah matematika. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the algebraic problem-solving abilities of student package B equivalence. Data collection was conducted on students of package B equivalency at the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) of Rahmatan Lil-Alamin Makassar, South Sulawesi. The method used in this research is quantitative. The results of the study showed that 45% of students who completed, while students who did not complete were 55%, meaning that there were more students who did not complete than completed. Students' classical completeness also gets a percentage of 40%, it means that students do not complete classically. The students have not been able to understand algebraic problem and students experience concept errors and problem solving procedures. Students must be trained to do algebraic questions more routinely and students are also given algebraic questions related to the context of students' daily life. The research is needed to be done further on other variables such as conceptual understanding, problem solving errors, as well as material to be tested such as geometry, arithmetic, and statistics.
