<![CDATA[Abstrak : Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang fenomena calon tunggal dalam pemilihan kepala daerah (PILKADA) perspektif demokrasi dan siyasah dusturiyah. Dengan rumusan masalah bagaimana unsur demokrasi dalam pemilihan umum di Indonesia terhadap pemilihan kepala daerah dengan calon tunggal?, dan bagaimana pandangan siyasah dusuriyah terhadap pemilihan kepala daerah dengan calon tunggal?. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian yuridis normatif, dengan pendekatan kasus (case approach) dan pendekatan perundang-undangan (statue approach) serta pendekatan yang lainya yang berhubugan dengan judul dan rumusan masalah penelitian. Hasil dari kedua rumusan masalah diatas adalah, secara demokrasi pemilihan kepala daerah dengan calon tunggal tetap bertentangan dengan unsur dari demokrasi, namun jika pemilihan kepala daerah dilakukan dengan calon tunggal akan mengurangi kualitas dari demokrasi. karena, semangat demokrasi secara harfiah mengharapkan alternative pemimpin itu sebanyak-banyaknya. Selain itu, dalam fiqih siyasah dusturiyah tidak ditemukan secara jelas tentang metode pemilihan kepala daerah dengan calon tunggal. Namun, secara substansional pemilihan kepala daerah dapat dilakukan dengan calon tunggal apabila calon kepala daerah tersebut memenuhi kualifikasi yang sudah ditentukan.Kata Kunci: Pemilihan Kepala Daerah, Calon Tunggal, Demokrasi, Siyasah DusturiyahAbstract: This study examines the phenomenon of a single candidate in the regional head election (PILKADA) from the perspective of democracy and siyasa dusturiyah. The type of research used is normative juridical research, with a case approach and a statutory approach as well as other approaches related to the title and formulation of the research problem. The results of the two problem formulations above are that democratically, regional head elections with a single candidate are still contrary to elements of democracy, but if regional head elections are conducted with a single candidate, it will reduce the quality of democracy. because, the spirit of democracy literally expects as many alternative leaders as possible. In addition, in the fiqh of siyasa dusturiyah, it is not clear that the method of selecting regional heads with a single candidate is found.
