Abstract

This study aims to analyze more comprehensively the meaning of the words al-sulbi and al-tara'ib. In its interpretation, the seventh verse of the letter al-Tariq is always associated with the study of the kauniyah verses, and the majority relates it to the process of human creation. In fact, if we refer to the basic meaning of both, al-s {ulbi means hard or strong, and al-tara'ib means dirt or dust, it is very far from being connected to the process of human creation. To solve this problem, the writer uses the method of interpretation of maud {u'i surah with the semantic approach of the Qur'an. From this analysis, the conclusion is that by using the method of interpretation of maud {u'i surah and considering the munasah in the letter al-T{{a>riq, then it could mean that the meaning is hard rocks (al-sulbi) and soft soil (al-tara'ib) on the crust of the earth, and is related to the discharge of water from the ground. This shows that it has nothing to do with the process of human creation. However, by using the semnatic approach of the Koran, it is found that the lafaz al-s {ulbi refers to the back and al-tara>'ib leads to the ribs of women. Thus, the explanation strongly supports the results of the interpretation in general, namely the process of human creation. Thus, it can be taken into account that in general verse 7 of the letter al-Ta>riq describes the process of human creation. And on the other hand, simultaneously there are systemic similarities with the process of releasing groundwater from the aquifer.

Abstract

The study of the Koran from a contextual point of view continues to grow. One of the offers that has been continuously studied and applied is the double movement theory initiated by Fazlur Rahman and developed by Abdullah Saeed. The double movement theory emphasizes the socio-historical context of the Koran and the present. To bridge the two periods, a researcher must sensitively take the meaning of the verse being studied or what is called the moral ideal. Thus, the meaning of the purpose of the revelation of the Qur'anic verse will continue to be conveyed at any time. The object of the application of the double movement is indeed law verses, so as to produce a moral ideal that is real or concrete. However, in this study, the researcher found that double movement not only produces concrete moral ideals, but also transcendental ones. The verse studied is the verse of war, surah al-Anfāl verse 17. So that, the result is that the moral ideal which is concrete from this verse is that it is permissible and even required to take the path of war if it is in an emergency and is depressed. For example, there is pressure, discrimination and so on that cause torture. And, the transcendental moral ideal is that there must be an attitude of tawakal and endeavor from every Muslim. That Allah can make real what is considered impossible by humans.

Abstract

This paper aims to reveal what is the true moral message in the sentence Isjudu> li A>dama. Therefore, the research focuses on the fragments of these verses in Surah al-Baqarah verse 34 and al-Kahfi verse 50. Understanding the moral message in every verse of the Koran is very important to know. It aims to make the message of the Koran relevant today. In this study, the analysis was carried out on two tafsir works, namely Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab and Tafsir Al-Azhar by Hamka. Both are products of Indonesian interpretation, they use the tah{lily method of interpretation, with the pattern of adabi ijtima'i. However, from the results of the author's analysis using qualitative research methods and literature, and supported by comparative studies with several aspects of the object of study, the conclusion is that the interpretation in the Al-Misbah Tafsir; specifically on the two verses above, it is more comprehensive than the explanation of the Tafsir Al-Azhar. And also, in the Tafsir Al-Misbah, a more dominant moral message is found, in addition to mutual respect, respect and respect as fellow beings, Al-Baqarah verse 34 can be the basis for the obligation to respect those who are knowledgeable. [Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap apa sebenarnya pesan moral pada kalimat Isjudu> li A>dama. Maka dari itu, penelitian terfokuskan pada penggalan ayat tersebut yang ada dalam surat al-Baqarah ayat 34 dan al-Kahfi ayat 50. Memahami pesan moral dalam setiap ayat al-Quran sangat penting untuk diketahui. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk merelevansikan pesan al-Quran di zaman sekarang. Dalam penelitian ini, analisis dilakukan pada dua karya tafsir, yakni Tafsir Al-Mishbah karya dari M. Quraish Shihab dan Tafsir Al-Azhar karya dari Hamka. Keduanya merupakan produk tafsir nusantara, sama sama menggunakan metode tafsir tah{lily, bercorak adabi ijtima‘i. Namun dari hasil analisis penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan kepustakaan, serta ditunjang dengan studi komparasi/muqaran dengan beberapa aspek obyek kajian dihasilkan kesimpulan bahwa tafsiran dalam Tafsir Al-Misbah; khusus pada dua ayat di atas, lebih komprehensif dibandingkan penjelasan Tafsir Al-Azhar. Dan juga, dalam Tafsir Al-Misbah ditemukan pesan moral yang lebih dominan, selain harus saling memuliakan, menghormati dan menghargai sebagai sesama makhluk, Al-Baqarah ayat 34 dapat menjadi dasar tentang kewajiban menghormati orang-orang yang berpengetahuan.]

Abstract

Kajian terhadap Alquran dengan sudut pandang kontesktual kian terus berkembang. Salah satu tawaran yang hingga ini terus ditelaah dan diaplikasikan adalah teori double movement yang digagas oleh Fazlur Rahman, dan dikembangkan oleh Abdullah Saeed. Teori double movement sangat menitikberatkan konteks sosio-historis Alquran dan masa sekarang. Untuk menjembatani antara dua masa tersebut, maka seorang peneliti harus secara peka mengambil makna dari ayat yang dikaji atau yang disebut dengan ideal moral. Dengan demikian, makna dari tujuan diturunkannya ayat Alquran tersebut akan tetap tersampaikan hingga kapanpun. Obyek dari pengaplikasian double movement memang ayat-ayat hukum, sehingga menghasilkan ideal moral yang sifatnya nyata atau konkret. Namun, dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan bahwa double movement tidak hanya menghasilkan ideal moral yang sifat konkret tapi juga transendental. Ayat yang dikaji adalah ayat perang, surat al-Anfal ayat 17. Sehingga, dihasilkan bahwa Ideal moral yan bersifat konkret dari ayat ini adalah dibolehkan bahkan diharuskan mengambil jalur peperangan jika sudah dalam keadaan darurat dan tertekan. Seperti, adanya tekanan, pendiskriminasian dan lain sebagainya yang menyebabkan ketersiksaan. Dan, ideal moral yang bersifat transendental adalah harus adanya sikap tawakal dan ikhtiar dari setiap muslim. Bahwa Allah dapat menjadikan nyata setiap apa yang dianggap mustahil oleh manusia. Kata Kunci: Badar, Double Movement, Ideal Moral, Konkret, Transendental

Abstract

Abstract: Hermeneutic as interpretation knowledge can be classified into three categories: objective, subjective, and liberation. 1). Objective hermeneutic means an effort to interpret and to understand the meaning of text as the author means. 2). Subjective hermeneutic means an effort to interpret and to understand the meaning of text based on the social context at this time without any consideration to the author thought. 3). Liberation hermeneutic means an effort to interpret and to understand the meaning of text based on the spirit of circumstance and try to make the result of interpretation as the spirit to change the life and the circumstance of the interpreter and the reader. In Islamic perspective, objective hermeneutic can be compared with tafsir bi al-ma’tsur, and subjective hermeneutic can be compared with tafsir bi al-ra’y. However, hermeneutical discourse has been giving much contribution for the development of interpretation knowledge, so it can appear hermeneutic of liberation. It is a new penetration. If it is applied in Islam, interpretation does not only understand the meaning of al-Qur’an text as God means or based on the context, but also an effort how to make the result of interpretation as the spirit for Muslim society to change their society become better and the best.Keyword: Abdullah Saeed, hermeneutic, interpretation
