Dental caries is one of the most common dental and oral diseases, because the teeth are not treated, resulting in impaired growth and development of the child. The purpose of this study was to determine the caries status in children in 2017/2018, in Sioban Village Kec. Sipora Selatan, Kab.Kep.Mentawai. This type of research is descriptive epidemiological research. The population in this study were children aged 12-15 years in the village of Sioban Kec. Sipora Selatan, Kab.Kep.Mentawai 92 samples, research time December 2017( until january 2018 in Sioban Village Kec. Sipora selatan , Mentawai and research instruments with dental examinations based on DMF-T. The univariate analysis is displayed with the frequency distribution table. Based on the result of the research showed that child dental caries based on DMF-T at most is very low category which is 38 people (41,3%), low and medium category as many as 22 people (23.9%), high category of 9 people (9.8%) and at least very high category 1 (1.1%) in Sioban Village Kec. Sipora Selatan, Kab.Kep.Mentawai. The conclusion that child dental caries is in very low category and for the local government is expected to have accurate data to conduct dental and oral health education programs.
