Abstract

One of the local language that found in the province of Papua with the largest number of speakers is Ngalum language. Ngalum language is spoken by Ngalum’s ethnic who lived in the Valley of  Oksibil, Okisop, and Okbon, Pegunungan Bintang Regency. One of the uniqueness of Ngalum language is numeralia system. Numeralia are words or phrases that show the number or quantity, can also to express the number of objects or their order in a row. This research uses descriptive method with three stages, namely providing data, data analysis, and  presentation of the results of data analysis. Data analysis was conducted after the data were  classified. The analysis that is applied using distributional method. Ngalum Language recognize five types of numeralia, namely numeralia principal, numeralia level, numeralia collective principal, principal numeralia indeterminate, and numeralia distributive. Numeralia of Ngalum is put in the front of phrase and the back of noun.

Abstract

This study discussed about the phonemes distribution of Mor language. Mor language is one of the regional languages in Province of Papua that spoken by the community in the Moora Islands District, Nabire Regency. This research used descriptive method with three stages, namely data supply, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis result. Data analysis is performed after the data is classified. The analysis applied using the distribution method. The result of study showed that Mor language has 23 segmental phonemes consisting of sixteen consonants and seven vowel phonemes. The phonemes, namely/p/, /B/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /j/, /m/, /n/, /s/, /r/, /h/, /G/, /?/, /y/, /w/, /a/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /|/, /O/, and /E/. The phonemes of Mor language in the word are partially distributed complete and some are incompletely distributed. Phoneme/p/, /t/, /m/, /n/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /O/, /E/, and /a/ are complete distributed consonant. It means, those phonemes occupy all position in the word. The phonemes /B/, /k/, /g/, /j/, /s/, /r/, /h/, and /w/ are phonemes distributed only at the beginning and middle of words. The phonemes /?/, /G/, and /y/ are phonemes which distributed in the middle and the end of the words, while the phonemes /d/ and /|/ are phonemes distributed only at the middle of the words.

Abstract

This paper discusses about nominal phrase of Moi language. Nominal phrase is the phrase that has distribution like as noun. The purpose of this paper is to describe nominal phrase pattern of Moi language, classification of word classes and its structure. This paper uses descriptive method by three steps, that is to collect data, to analyze data, and to describe data. Its collecting data uses the conversation method by provocative technique as basic technique and face to face technique, and note technique as the next technique. Analyzing of data uses distributional method. General pattern of nominal phrase in Moi language is DM. Nominal phrase of Moi language is consist of core constituent that has noun as its content and attribute constituent that has noun, pronoun, adjective, definite article, numeral, and relative clause. Some of meaning relation was happened as the result of this syntactic process, it is to state possessive, locative, qualitative, quantitative, deictic, and descriptive.
