Abstract

The aim of D3 study program based on the academic guiding book of UNPis to be the professional and can do entrepreneur, and the aim of Family WelfareDepartment (S1) is to be the teachers. But in fact, the graduate of D3 have lessdesire to be an entrepreneur, and most of them continue their study to S1 familywelfare department and wants to me the civil official.The kind of this research is quantitative using descriptive method. Thepopulation is all D3 fashion department graduates that continue their study to S1education in Family Welfare Department UNP who registered in January – June2013, which are 33 persons. All population are the samples. The data processedby using percentage and data categorizing.The result shows that 55% respondents have high motivation to continuetheir study to S1 Family Welfare department due to their future dream, 52%respondents have high motivation to continue their study to S1 Family Welfaredepartment due to their family support, 36% respondents have medium motivationto continue their study to S1 Family Welfare department due to the times.Kata kunci: Motivasi, Melanjutkan Studi

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' motivation to make embroidered tablecloth flat for ornament through direct type of cooperative learning strategies in SMP N 4 Payakumbuh. Motivation student views of the three indicators, namely pleasure seeking and problem solving, passionate and hard-working, persevering in the face of duty. This type of research is a classroom action research consists of the first cycle and second cycle of each cycle of three meetings, one meeting two times 40 minutes. Data collection techniques were observation technique of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that students' motivation on the indicators have been achieved, with the achievement of the targets set is 80%. Thus, Type Direct Cooperative Learning Strategies in the learning process can improve students' motivation, to make flat embroidery to decorate the table.

Abstract

The shortage of activity in making gold yarn embroidery to furnish Carano lid caused by the strategy and learning model which was implemented by the teacher in previous learning session was not suitable and reuslted in the lack of the students activity. One of an effort which can be used to improve that condition is that to used cooperative learning method in the type of think-pair share with some indicators such as; visual activities, drawing activties, motor activities in order to create the students learning activities increase and be better. The research hypotesis is that, the model of cooperative learning type think- pair-share could improve the students activity to ability in furnishing carano lid with gold yarn ebroidery.This research is class action research which consists of two phases and each phase consists of three times meeting and each meeting was 3X 45 minutes. The sample of the research is the students of VII-5 SMP N 1 Payakumbuh Subdistrict in academic year 2011 and 2012, Lima Puluh Kota Regency consisted of 26 Based on the survey toward the students’ activity , it was concluded that through cooperative learning model type think-pair-share could improved the activityin making gold yarn embroidery for Carano Lid in handicraft learning of SMP N.1 Kec. Payakumbuh subdistrict.

Abstract

Problems were found in the development of embroidery in District Kuranji designmotifs used are still using pre-existing motifs, due to lack of knowledge of artisans increating the design motif, this makes the product less variable results. The purpose of thisstudy is to describe the design motif embroidery, embroidery techniques and types ofproducts kerajinanbordir. The research method uses descriptive qualitative method. Thetype of data in the form of primary and secondary data. The technique of collecting datathrough observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis is done with tekbiksnow ball sampling by using an interactive model analysis techniques, namely the model ofdata reduction, data presentation, and making conclusions. The results of that study,embroidery motifs contained in the embroidery business in District Naturalists Kuranji isthe motive of plant and animal motifs like motif of leaves, stems, grass, jasmine, roses,orchids, lotus, butterfly. Geometric motifs such as rectangular motifs, from the later in thestylized motifs into a decorative ornament. Decorative embroidery pattern consists of;Sowing pattern, pattern fringes, pattern fills the field and the free pattern. The combinationof colors using a combination of neutral colors, Monocromatis and Complement.Embroidery techniques used there are 5 techniques: embroidery techniques suji liquid, fullsuji, fantasy embroidery, embroidery overlay / kerancang (includes: kerancang seats, chisel,cross, wheels, broom, chaotic, board, wrap, cut, rail, fish eye) and the application ofembroidery techniques. Type of product produced is mukena, materials for clothingapplique, embroidery material for skirts, embroidered materials for the robe and materialsfor kebaya embroidery. Expected results of this embroidery craft products can continue tobe preserved and enhanced ability to compete and market share.Kata kunci: Produk kerajinan bordir di Kecamatan Kuranji.

Abstract

The background of the problem in this research is thedifficulties experienced  by student’s learning the Family WelfareDepartment of the Faculty of Engineering University of  Padangcourses draping1 marked  by as student who get low scores. Thepurposes of this study was to determine how high the difficulties  theFamily Welfare Department of the Faculty of EngineeringUniversity of  Padang  student learning in a subject draping 1 interms of understanding the material and learning facilities. Thisresearch is descriptive kuantitatif. The population in this study werestudents majoring the Family Welfare Department fashion  coursesD3 BP 2010/2011 the number of 33 people. The sample in this studyis determined by the total sampling technique, the entire populationwere sampled. The data use in this research is the primary data.Research instrument is based on indicator, data collection obtainedfrom  respondents through question  naires charging. The analysisshowed that students learning difficulties seen from understandingthe material included in the high category with 68.2%. thepercentage of students learning difficulties including high categorywith the percentage of 63%. Difficulty learning students in subjectscategorized draping 1 high percentage of 67%. This means thatstudents still find difficulties in the courses draping 1. Abstract

The problems in this research is the students can’t make the dress design well, the less precise in measuring, the students can’t understand the good pattern form, the students  not careful enough in cutting or scissoring the material, and the students not good enough in sewing. The aim of this research is to describe the student learning difficulties in making women working dress which includes designing the dress, making the pattern, and sewing technique.The kind of this research is quantitative descriptive. The population is all XI grade students fashion department of SMK 6 Padang which are 28 persons. The sample is all population. The data processed by using percentage technique.The result shows that there are 46% students have the middle difficulties in designing, 36% students have the middle difficulties in making pattern, 43% students have the the middle difficulties in sewing, generally, 50% students the middle learning difficulties. Abstract

This research begin from the phenomena in SMK 8 Padang that some students are not good in making pattern. It is shown by the obstacles in making the measurement, making the basic pattern and breaking pattern. The aim of  this research is to see how are the obstacles that faced by the students in making the measurement, making the basic pattern and breaking the pattern in pattern making competences by using construction technique in SMK 8 Padang. The kind of this research is quantitative descriptive that describe, explain and interpret as the reality. The population is 22 students, which are all students in X grade fashion department. Data collection is using questionnaire with 27 items. Data analysis using percentage technique and respondents total achievement. The result shows that the students obstacles in pattern making competence in SMP 8 Padang is still high. 45% students experienced obstacle in making measurement with middle category, 36% students experienced obstacle in making basic pattern in low category and 41% students experienced obstacle in breaking pattern in low category. It means that the students experienced obstacle in pattern making competence by using construction technique in SMK 8 Padang.   Kata kunci: Hambatan Belajar Siswa

Abstract

The basic pattern Lucia Mors De Castro came from Germany, which iscontained in Basic Pattern Making book. The basic pattern Lucia Mors De Castrohas never been used or investigated by the lacturer and students of KesejahteraanKeluarga FT UNP on the pattern of Indonesian women's clothing, especially for theideal female body shape. The purpose of this study is to describe a weakness, howto repair a weakness, and the suitability of basic pattern, sleves, and skirts of LuciaMors De Castro on the Indonesian ideal female body shape. The method of researchis applied research. The object of research is the basic pattern Lucia Mors De Castrowere tested on students Kesejateraan Keluarga ideal stature height of 165 cm,weight 55.25 cm, at the age of 22 years. Instrument of the research is the assessmentformat. Assessment carried out by 5 panelists are lecturers dressmaking fittingmanner. The analysis data technique used is descriptive statistics. The resultsshowed that the basic pattern Lucia Mors De Castro for the ideal body shape, hasseveral disadvantages including: 1) bust circumference looks loose, 2) waistcircumference looks loose, 3) bust depth appears to rise, 4) back height appears torise, 5) back width seems less appropriate, 6) armhole diameter look lessappropriate, 7) concave arm circumference seem cramped, 8) darts at the front ofthe skirt does not appropriate location, 9) darts rear skirt looks not appropriatelocation. Of research Lucia Mors De Castro can be adjusted to the ideal femalebody shape Indonesia, namely by doing some repairs on how to make a pattern.This can be seen from the results of the analysis of data on fitting to II, mode was 4,median was 4, and the percentage was 99,7.Kata kunci: Kesesuain pola dasar Lucia Mors De Castro, Wanita Indonesiabertubuh ideal.

Abstract

Abstract This reseach is purposed to describe the students‟ difficulties on embroidery subject at SMK Negeri IV Pariaman. The variables in thisresearch are difficulties that are faced by students of class XI inembroidery subject from  textile skill design major at SMKN IVPariaman with indicators: 1) the knowledge of equipments andmaterials, 2) the basic technique of emroidery, 3) and the embroiderytechniques. This research is a kind of quantitative research withdescriptive method. The data analysing technique that is used by this method is percentage technique which purposes to see the students‟respond performance level toward the indicators. Based on the dataanalysis that is acquired about student difficulties on embroidery subjectconsist of: 1) the equipments and materials knowledge about embroiderysubject in textile skill design major at SMKN IV Pariaman is very high(80%), 2) the embroidery basic techniques of class XI students fromtextile skill design major at SMKN IV Pariaman is average (67,3%), 3)embroidery techniques of class XI students from from textile skill designmajor at SMKN IV Pariaman is high (70,8%).  Kata Kunci:  kesulitan-kesulitan,mata pelajaran bordir
