Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze the potential of MICE tourism in the incentive field at Lake Toba Samosir, North Sumatra. This research uses descriptive qualitative method; it is included in survey research. The results of the discussion of the research that has been carried out are: (1) Increasing facilities and infrastructure to support tourist activities (2) There are not many tourist activities so that tourists are likely to only have 1 to 2 days so that MICE tourism in the incentive sector can increase even more. (3) The Government has carried out MICE Tourism activities by carrying out annual activities such as the 2014 Lake Toba Party that can increase tourist visits to the Toba Samosir area so that MICE Tourism can be carried out well. (4) The hotel is ready to face MICE Tourism but hotel managers still need training and socialization for MICE Tourism so that hotel managers and tourism players can promote hotels to increase occupancy rates. Recommendations for increasing MICE tourism potential are: (1) Quality improvement of facilities and supporting infrastructure (2) Tourists activities ,ust be mopre diversified so the guests do not feel bored and immediately return home or immediately continue their visit to other areas, (3) The role of the government has been very good for advancing MICE Tourism in the Toba Samosir area, it would be even better if it could create an annual activity agenda such as a Sports Tournament, motorcycle crossing, mountain bike, trekking, 10 km marathon run, music concert, Batak Opera and National Culture others from various regions, proficiency shows, entertainment programs, people's harvest parties, and others. (4) To advance MICE tourism, tour operators and hotel managers still need training and dissemination of MICE implementation

Abstract

Penelitian ini terfokus kepada menganalisis strategi perencanaan dan pemasaran homestay yang selama ini sudah dilakukan di Desa Huta Tinggi. Pendekatan dan metode yang digunakan kualitatif dan metode yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif dimana dalam proses pemerolehan data, peneliti terlibat langsung dengan informan turis lokal maupun mancanegara dan para pelaku pariwisata dan mengadakan survey langsung ke objek yang diteliti. Dari hasil analisa dan pengolahan didapatkan hasil tentang: 1) setiap pelaku usaha homestay harus memiliki keunggulan atas yang lainnya; 2) perencanaan homestay melibatkan semua komponen masyarakat dan 3) berdasarkan faktor internal dan eksternal maka strategi yang dilakukan intensif atau integratif. Strategi intensif merupakan strategi dengan cara penetrasi pasar, pengembangan produk dan pengembangan pasar, sedangkan strategi integratif dilakukan dengancara integrasi ke depan, integrasi ke belakang dan integrasi. Peningkatan kualitas pelayanan termasuk juga sarana dan prasarana perlu ditingkatkan. Peran serta masyarakat, stakeholders dan Pemerintah merupakan hal mutlak yang tidak bisa diabaikan. Selain itu penyuluhan program Sapta Pesona kepada tokoh masyarakat khususnya para generasi muda bahwa aset yang dimiliki mempunyai daya tarik yang tinggi harus ditanamkan secara berkesinambungan.Kata kunci: Strategi pemasaran, perencanaan, homestay.

Abstract

This study identifies that in the development of a tourism destination in an area it is inseparable from the relationship between managers, stakeholders and the community, the Bulbul Beach tourist area in Toba Regency is a tourist destination that has the potential to continue to be developed because of the potential attractions in the Bulbul Beach area. The method used in qualitative descriptive research which is sourced from secondary data by conducting field studies and collecting data in the field and observation. This study concludes that developing a sustainable destination must be accompanied by the readiness of the actors, the community and workers in terms of tourism training so that there are no obstacles that hinder the development process due to the lack of readiness on the part of managers, communities and employees about tourism knowledge.
