Abstract

The character of geomaterials is affected by stress path remarkably. Under different stress paths, the stress-strain characteristics of geomaterials are difference. For the unloading path in existing engineering situation, the physical parameters and constitutive model is usually determined by loading test. The path to uninstall the actual project conditions which may be a larger error. Therefore, this work proceeding from the actual project, deep excavation of the lateral unloading condition is analysed. The tests of CTC path and RTC path on silty clay in Huangshi city of china by multi-path tri-axial plane strain are carried on in the geotechnical Engineering Laboratory of Huangshi Institute of Technology. Then, the phenomenon under the two stress paths are compared with each other and describing the differences between them. The mechanical properties in the RTC stress path is analyzed mainly. Based on the Cam-Clay model framework, then derived this material yield equation based on Cam-clay model, Laiding the foundation for the numerical analysis.

Abstract

Prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) has been applied in many large-scale hydraulic engineering projects around the world. And the prestressed wire breakage is the most common form of PCCP damage. Traditional carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) liner techniques fail to fully exploit the tensile performance of CFRP. Therefore, the method of using EPS cushion and CFRP liner to strengthen the PCCP with broken wire is proposed in this study. To clarify the effect of the proposed method, a finite element three-dimensional model is established and validated using experimental data. Subsequently, the effects of EPS thickness, CFRP thickness, and wire breakage ratio on the stress-strain response of the PCCP are analyzed. Based on different failure modes of the pipe, the influence of EPS and CFRP thickness on the internal pressure bearing capacity is discussed. The study reveals that the synergistic action of the EPS cushion can effectively enhance the internal pressure bearing capacity of the PCCP. As the thickness of EPS cushion and CFRP increases, the bearing capacity almost linearly increases. Under the influence of internal pressure, visible cracks first appear in the concrete core, followed by yielding of the steel cylinder, and finally the steel wire stress reaches its ultimate strength.

Abstract

Hermeticism is one of the world's oldest religious and philosophical traditions, primarily distributed in the Mediterranean region. Shihab al-Din Yahya al-Suhrawardi is a renowned Muslim scholar in Iran and a notable Illuminationist (ishraqi). The most representative aspect of Suhrawardi's Islamic theology is his Illumination Theology (Ḥikmat al-Ishraq), which also forms the foundation of his Islamic theology. In previous research by scholars worldwide, examining the origins of Suhrawardi's thought has become a very important topic. Many experts and religious scholars have studied this and yielded significant findings. However, these discussions seem to have overlooked the fact that Suhrawardi's thought has Hermetic origins. Here, the author will employ the qualitative method of close reading of texts, focusing on comparing Suhrawardi's works with Hermetic texts, and integrating relevant research to explore the Hermeticism contained within Suhrawardi's llumination Theology. The focus is on how Hermeticism influenced Suhrawardi's Illumination Theology and how Suhrawardi's Illumination Theology transformed Hermeticism. This study will reveal the relationship between the theological thought of Muslim scholars, and even Islamic theology, and ancient intellectual heritage.
