Abstract

This study analyzes the song Unity / Ruang Aman by the hardcore powerviolence band NEGATIFA as a medium of resistance against sexual violence in public spaces, particularly within Indonesia’s heavy music scene. The song was selected because it explicitly exposes incidents of harassment that occurred at concerts and asserts the urgency of safe spaces for women. A qualitative approach was applied through textual analysis of the lyrics, documentation of live performances, and theoretical framing using Alberto Melucci’s concept of collective identity and Stuart Hall’s theory of meaning negotiation. The findings reveal that the lyrics of Unity / Ruang Aman function as a form of cultural protest challenging patriarchal norms and false solidarity within the independent music community. Symbols such as “scene,” “stage dive,” and “bullshit unity” are transformed into discourses of resistance that reject victim blaming practices and demand collective accountability. Beyond criticism, the song promotes preventive mechanisms against sexual violence through on stage actions, direct calls to the audience, and the do it yourself networks characteristic of the hardcore subculture. This research demonstrates that heavy music can serve as an effective medium for education, gender equality campaigns, and social mobilization. The study contributes to music, gender, and social movement scholarship by showing how popular cultural practices can articulate demands for justice and construct a collective identity of resistance to sexual violence in public spaces.

Abstract

Existing literacy programs are often partial and rely on external funding, rather than the village's internal potential. While some villages tend to prioritize physical development, Slogoretno Village prioritizes human resource development through literacy. This effort aims to ensure the community understands village programs and receives comprehensive information, not just through word of mouth. This raises the need to analyze the effectiveness of an integrated and sustainable literacy model. This study aims to analyze the comprehensive implementation of the PELITA EMAS (Literacy Education and Community Education) Program in improving community literacy in Slogoretno Village. Specifically, this study aims to analyze how literacy innovations are disseminated and accepted using the Diffusion of Innovation Theory framework. The analysis uses the Diffusion of Innovation Theory (Everett Rogers), focusing on five innovation attributes (relative advantage, compatibility, etc.) and the role of communication channels. The method used is qualitative. Data were collected through interviews and observations with the Village Fund implementation team and the community as innovation adopters. The research results show that PELITA EMAS has successfully disseminated four main literacy innovations: Science Literacy (cocoa grafting training to produce superior seeds), Financial Literacy (early savings training for PAUD and MSME management), Digital Literacy (socialization of Digital Population Identity/IKD), and Reading Literacy (development of digital libraries and TPA/TPQ). The successful adoption was driven by clear relative benefits for the community (for example, superior cocoa and ease of IKD) as well as the role of effective Interpersonal Communication Channels from external parties such as the presence of KPM/KKN students.

Abstract

This study discusses the visual meaning of digital protests after the August 28–30, 2025 demonstration in Indonesia, focusing on the use of Brave Pink and Hero Green colors on social media. This phenomenon shows how color functions as a medium of symbolic communication that shapes digital solidarity and collective consciousness of society. Through a qualitative approach with a visual content analysis method, this study examines how the two colors are articulated in public uploads and how their meanings are constructed and reproduced participatically in the digital space. The results showed that Brave Pink represents courage born of empathy and tenderness, while Hero Green represents hope, balance, and social vitality. The combination of the two gives birth to a visual discourse that marks a shift from confrontational protest to reflective and inclusive expression. This research confirms that color can function as a moral language that strengthens social connectedness in the digital world. Thus, the visual meaning in digital protests not only reflects the political attitudes of the community, but also shows the transformation of communication culture in the new media era.

Abstract

In the context of modern society, Islamic da‘wah faces significant challenges in conveying moral and spiritual values in ways that remain relevant amid the dominance of popular culture and entertainment media. Popular music, often perceived as a profane cultural space, is frequently questioned in terms of its capacity to function as an effective and non-dogmatic medium of da‘wah. Against this backdrop, this study aims to analyze the song “Haramkah” by Melly Goeslaw as a reflection of cultural da‘wah that communicates Islamic moral values through popular music. This study employs a qualitative approach using lyrical text analysis, combined with the theoretical framework of Islamic communication and cultural da‘wah. The main focus is on how concepts of love and religious moral boundaries are aesthetically interpreted within the song’s lyrics, as well as how da‘wah messages are presented in a reflective and humanistic manner rather than in a dogmatic form. The findings indicate that “Haramkah” represents the inner struggle of modern individuals between romantic desire and moral consciousness, with the lyrics emphasizing the importance of self-restraint and the surrender of the heart to God. Music functions as a medium of emotional communication that integrates moral messages, affective experiences, and the listener’s religious awareness. The song illustrates a dialectical relationship between religion and popular culture, in which Islamic values are articulated through aesthetic forms that are accessible and relevant to urban life. Implications of this study highlight the potential of cultural da‘wah in fostering moral and spiritual awareness in modern society, while also expanding scholarly understanding of the transformation of Islamic da‘wah in the era of media and popular arts.

His book is not just a recounting of his life story; it is also a way for him to talk about himself and how he deals with the pressures of fame and the expectations of public life. This study uses a descriptive and qualitative approach, focusing on how stories are told. The data were obtained by examining the text, the way words are used, and the symbols that show how Mohan communicates about himself. The findings show that Mohan expresses himself through honest and emotional storytelling, demonstrating bravery in being open and real. His work shows the importance of being true to oneself by rejecting fake ideas and promoting free thinking in urban life. The book acts as a personal space for honest emotions and deep thinking and also stands up against the image-driven culture of the digital world.
