Abstract

Mapping the Mainstreaming to Interfaith Marriage Law. This article intends observe the linkage of the implementation of interfaith marriage with the opinion of Islamic jurists’ and to political and social change in a country. Interfaith marriage law—as occurred in (former) North Yemen, Jordan, Algeria. And Iraq—is not influenced by the Islamic school of thought of the majority population. In contary, interfaith marriage in the aforementioned states is not inline with the mainstream opinion of islamic jurists that forbidding softly (makruh) Muslim man to marry a women of Ahl al-Kitab. The regulation is obviously influennced by the rise of Islamism. Such as the Muslim brotherhood in Jordan, Front Islamic Salvation in Algeria, and the growing influence of Shiite movements in Iraq and Noth Yemen in establishing relgious conservatism in matters of interfaith marriage. Thus, it can be understood why those countries prefer to refer text of the Quran that regulate interfaith marriage law. Keywords: Interfaith marriage law, islamic family law, Ahl-Kitab.

Abstract

Zakat is an annual tithe on one’s weath on possessions and is one of Islamic’s obligations and one of its five mainpillars. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said: “Islam was bult upon five pillars: to witness that there is not god butAllah and that Muhammad is His serveant and messenger, performing prayer, giving alms (Zakat), performingthe pilggrimge, and fasting the month of Ramadan.” (Sahih al-Bukhari). The benefits of zakat is 1. SatisfyingAllah SWT and gaining His pleasure and them gaing Paradise in the Hereafter, as the duty of paying zakat is akind of worship ordered by Allah SWT. 2. Purifying the heart from the love of material. 3. Protecting the societyfrom crime as the poor people would be satisfied by what the rich peole pay to them. 4. Uniting the society wherethe poor feel the brodherhood with the rich and vice versa.Key Word: Zakat of konsumtive, Zakat of productive AbstrakZakat adalah kewajiban tahunan terhadap seseorang yang memiliki harta dan merupakan salah satu kewajibanIslam dan salah satu dari lima pilar utamanya. Nabi Muhammad saw mengatakan: “Islam adalah salah satu pilardari lima pilar: yaitu, menyaksikan bahwa tidak ada tuhan selain Allah dan bahwa Muhammad adalah nabi danutusan-Nya, melakukan sholat, memberikan sedekah (Zakat), menunaikan haji, dan berpuasa bulan Ramadan.“(Sahih al-Bukhari). Manfaat zakat adalah 1. Melaksanakan perintah Allah SWT dan mendapatkan rido-Nya danuntuk mendapatkan surga di akhirat kelak. Sebagai kewajiban, membayar zakat adalah jenis ibadah yangdiperintahkan oleh Allah SWT. 2. Memurnikan hati dari kecintaan terhadap materi. 3. Melindungi masyarakat darikejahatan karena orang miskin akan senang dengan apa yang orang kaya tunaikan kepada mereka. 4.Menyatukan masyarakat di mana orang miskin merasakan yang dirasakan orang kaya, begitu juga sebaliknya.Kata Kunci: Zakat Konsumtif, Zakat Produktif

Abstract

Pesantren as an Islamic educational institution with a boarding system is anaducation that with has astrategic position in tradinal society, especially amongstudents. This position anables pesantren to become a vehicle for effectiveempowerment for the community while remaining grounded in the cultural valuesthat underlie it.Islamic boarding schools appear to be an institution that has various facilities tobuild the potential of students, not necessarily terms of moral, intellectual andspiritual values, but also physical and material attributs.The article talk camly about the pesantren and Islamic higher educations. Abstract

Pesantren or Pondok Pesantren are Islamic boarding school. According to onepopular tradition. As social institutions, pesantren have played a major role overthe centuries. They emphasise cores values of sincerity, simplicity, individualautonomy, solidarity and self-control. Young men and women are separated fromtheir familier, which contributes to a sense of individual commitment to the faithand close bonding to a teacher. Pesantren aim to deepen knowledge of Qur’an,particularly thruugh the study of Arabic, traditions of exegesis, the Sayings of theProphet, law and logic. The term pesantren derives from the root word santri orstudent – pe-santri- or the place of the santri. Pesantren provides to Indonesiancitizens at low cost; although today some modern pesantren charge higher feesthan previously, they are still significantly cheaper than non-pesantreneducational instittutions. The tradisional pattern was for students to work in theheadmaster’s rice fields in exchange for food, shelter, and education. Allpesantren are led by a group of teachers and religious leaders known Kyai. TheKyai is respected as teacher and devout man. Kyai also play important roles in inthe community as a religious leader and in recent years as a political figure.There are Kyai families that have a long history of serving in this role. Somecontemporary Kyai are the grandsons and great-grandsons of famous historialfigures who established well known pesantren
