Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research purposed to measure the students’ ability procedure text in speakingprocedure text. The location of this research was SMK 1 Airjoman. The time that wasalocated in this research was one month. This research was conducted in descriptivequantitative. The method in taking the sample was random sampling. The population ofthis research was all of grade X students that consisted of two classes. Each class wasconsisted of 39 students for 1 class and 30 students for one class with the total populationwas 80 students. Because of this research was using descriptive quantitative, the researcherchoose X TPL and XTKR with 20 students as the sample of the research. The instruments thatused in this research was a test. The test was a multiple choice test. The test was askingthe students to rearrange the procedure text to a good text. Based on the result of theresearch, the students’ ability in speaking procedure text was low. It was proved by theirmean score in speaking procedure text that only reach 59.0. This indicated that thecalculated value of r is greater than the critical value at the level 5% = 0.312 and at levell1% = 0.403. [0.81>0.312]. It can be conluded that there is any significant an analysis ofstudents speaking ability of procedure text significantly. From this research, there are threeinstruments in examining their ability including pronunciation, fluency, and intonation.Pronunciation and Intonation were the most troublesome for the students because thestudents mostly made mistakes in that parts. It is hoped that by the finding of these trouble,there will be future research on this subject so that there will be some method or strategythat enable to overcome these troubles.

Abstract

ABSTRAK The objectives of this research is  to at find out the  differences between Talking Stick and Investigation Model on The Students’ Speaking Skill at Grade X students of SMK Al Ma’shum Sidodadi in Academic Year 2020/2021. This research had conducted in experiment design. There are two group, namely experimental group 1 and experimental group 2. Experimental group 1 had been taught by using Talking Stick Model, and experimental group 2 had been taught by using Investigation Model. The population of this research was taken from the grade X TKJ of SMK Al Ma’shum Sidodadi, and the sample were X TKJ-1 and X TKJ-2. The data has been collected from the pre-test and post-test value that worked  by the students in experimental group 1 and experimental group 2. The data were analyzed by using t-test. The findings indicate that tvalue was lower than ttable (0,92 < 2,021). The result of this research that Ho is accepted which mention that teaching speaking by using Investigation model is not higher  score than using Talking Stick model at grade X of SMK Al Ma’shum Sidodadi in Academic Year 2020/2021. This research shows that every model has different result. It is suggested to the teacher to use these model in teaching and learning process, so the students become more enjoyable in studying. Key words: Talking Stick, Investigation, Speaking.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the effect of Brainstorming Method in writing exposition text. This study was conducted by experimental research. The sample of this study was the students at grade XI Ak and XI RPL of SMK Swasta Tamansiswa Sukadamai. The total number of the population was seventy eight students in four class. There were 41 students chosen as the sample by using random sampling technique. The sample was divided into two groups, namely control group and experimental group. The experimental group was taught by using Brainstorming Method and control group was taught without using Brainstorming Method. The instrument for collecting the data was writing test. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of the analysis shows that ttest value is higher than ttable (4,072>1,684) at level of significance 0.05 with the degree of freedom 39. It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Based on the findings of this study, it was found that there is a significant effect of Brainstorming Method in writing exposition text. Key Words: Brainstorming Method, Writing, Exposition Text.
