Abstract

Mathematical learning should be construct to develop problem solving ability for students. One of strategy that can use in learning mathematic is Problem Possing Strategy. There are two activities students in problem possing strategy ie create the problems and looking for the solution. But, students often get dificulty when do it. Mind mapping tehnique can help student to create the problems and the solutions.Key words: problem possing, mind mapping, problem

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of Problem Posing learning facilitated by Mind Mapping toward problem solving and reasoning abillity based on students’ cognitive style.  Totally, there were 106 students involved in the study which comprised of 42 students from VIIE class of SMPN 7 Jember as experimental group (PPMM class),  42 students from VIIF class of SMPN 7 Jember as the first control group (PP1 class) and 32 students from VIID class of SMPN 1 Arjasa as the second control group (PP2 class). Before giving the treatment, students was given GEFT test to know the kind of cognitive style that they have. There are two kind of student’s cognitive style in this paper i.e. field-dependent and field-independent cognitive style. The study found that student’s problem solving and reasoning abillity  of PPMM class are better than PP class. Moreover, problem solving and reasoning abillity  of field independent students is better than field dependent students. Keywords: problem possing, mind mapping, problem solving, reasoning, and cognitive style

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of Problem Posing learning facilitated by Mind Mapping toward mathematical connection and mathematical communication abillity based on students’ cognitive style. Experimental group was taugh using problem posing approaches facilitated by mind mapping tehnique (PPMM class) and control group was taugh only using problem possing approaches (PP class). Before giving the treatment, students was given test to know the kind of cognitive style that they have. There are two kind of student’s cognitive style in this paper i.e. field-dependent and field-independent cognitive style. The instrumens of the study were a Group Embeded Figure Test (GEFT) and Mathematical Connection and Mathematical Communication abillity Test. The study found that student’s mathematical connection and mathematical communication abillity of PPMM class are better than PP class. Moreover, mathematical connection and mathematical communication abillity of field independent students is better than field dependent students. Keywords: problem possing, mind mapping, cognitive style, and mathematical connection and mathematical communication abillity

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to describe the students’ activities in using scramble with JIGSAW colaboration. And than to describe the mathematic students’ learning outcomes in using scramble with JIGSAW colaboration. The kind of the research is PTK with qualitative approach. The subjects of the research are students of class VII at MTs Miftahul Ulum. With the data collecting method that used in the research are questioner, documentation, observation, interview and test. The data analysis method that used is teacher activities analize, students’ activity analizes, and mathematic students learning outcomes analize. The results of the research there is increased activity and mathematic student learning outcomes. The percentasion of students’ activity in is 63 % become 96 % with verry good category. And for students learning outcomes is 78.30 with percentation is 70% become 85.15 with percentation is 90% Keyword: scramble jigsaw, mathetamtic learning outcomes

Abstract

Mathematics has always been a difficult subject for the students. Math learning in the classroom is often a very tedious process for most students. Many students are unmotivated to study mathematics, which means that the disposition of students in learning mathematics is lacking. Mathematical dispositions relate to student attitudes, the tendency to think and act positively in learning mathematics. One of the extracurricular activities that students are interested in is the Extrakurikuler Scout activities. Students are always eager to follow the activities in these activities. This means that the education system contained in the Boy Scouts is able to attract students' attention and be able to motivate students. Even when students are given difficult challenges, students seem to be passionate and happy to follow the challenge. This means students have a positive attitude in following Scout activities. This is certainly when applied in the learning of mathematics will be able to make students feel happy to attend math lessons. So that in the end can make students' mathematics learning outcomes for the better. Keyword: Math lesson, Scout, math disposision

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe High Order Thingking Skill (HOTS) students using PROPOMIMI technique. PROPOMIMI technique is a technique to make a mind map of a basic idea which will then be connected with various concepts that students have to create and solve a new problem. The subject of this study consists of 2 people, namely 1 person who has a low AQ and 1 person who has high AQ. From the result of the research, it is known that the highest HOTS is student with the type of AQ climbers and the lowest is the students with the type of AQ quitters. Keywords: HOTS, AQ, PROPOMIMI
