Abstract

Small- and medium Micro Enterprises (SMME) of fish processing in Ambon City play an important role in employment and income, but identified that the enterprises deal with developing problems. The objectives of this research are to identify characteristics of the micro enterprises of fish processing, to analyze financial feasibility, and to identify determinant of development of the micro enterprises of fish processing in Ambon city. Primary data were gathered from six micro enterprise units of fish processing using survey technique, while secondary data were obtained from official publications. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods. The results show that the micro enterprises of the fish processing are categorized as a small- and medium enterprise (SMME) based on the business capital, level of production, ineffectual function of institution, locally product marketing, and lack of management skill in business. Empirical results indicate the SMME of CV. Nacha and PT. Maluku Maya Mandiri are feasible to be developed. Some factors that need to be concerned in developing the SMME of fish processing in Ambon city are of capital availability, skilled worker, product promotion, and marketing strategy.

Abstract

Coastal resources are generally used by people into a crafts include fish scales, pearls shells, coconuts, shellfish, snails, coastal pandanus, bintangur and variety of coastal vegetation. To find out how the business continuity community needs to be studied Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) of the business. Respondents were used in the study 0f 20 sample out of a population of 56 people (35,7%) consists of buyers, sellers and institutional industries and tourism. This study analyzed the respondents assessment of the results of Internal Factors Analysis Summary (IFAS) and External Factors Analysis Summary (EFAS). The assessment results are then calculated an overall Ratio of Consistency (CR), if CR ≤ 0,1, the respondents have consistency in answering the questionnaire given. IFAS into strengths like quality of the product is according to counsumer tastes, ease of access to raw materials, skilled labor and experienced. While internal strategic factors of weakness such as: lack of media promotion, lack of financial bookkeeping. EFAS into opportunities such as private consumption will rise crafts, the market share is still widespread. While the factors external strategy that pose a threat to easy to imitate, regeneration of hard labor. Consistency Ratio (CR) of 0,07 indicates a decision taken by the respondent to determine priorities fairly consistent, meaning that priorities can be implemented are: improving the quality of product and market development as well as the flexibility of the product in order to follow changes in behavior and market demand.

Abstract

Investors can determine the appropriate investment alternatives in business, if they have calculated business feasibility based on investment criteria. Based on investment criteria, investors can determine investment alternatives appropriately. Research on investment alternatives in the pelagic capture fisheries business in Ambon City has been carried out to analyze investment feasibility and determine investment alternatives. The investment feasibility analysis method uses investment criteria namely Net Present Value (NPV), Net B/C Ratio, Gross B/C Ratio, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and Break Even Point (BEP) and determination of investment alternatives with the Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The results of the investment feasibility analysis of 7 types of pelagic fishing businesses in Ambon City, stated that all of them are worth invested. Analysis of investment alternatives with AHP based on investment criteria, determines that investors are best invest in the pelagic capture fisheries business in Ambon City with huhate (pole and line) with a CR value of 0.244 and purse seine with a CR value of 0.205.
