Abstract

This study aims to produce a review of students' abilities in solving mathematical story problems from a gender perspective. The indicators of students' abilities in solving story problems used are the ability to record known information; the ability to record sought information; the ability to create mathematical models; the ability to solve mathematical models; and the ability to answer questions asked. The method used is quantitative through a cross-sectional survey. The subjects in this study were 23 third-grade students in the 2024/2025 academic year at MI Miftakhul Huda Temanggung. The results showed that female students' ability to solve math word problems was higher than that of male students, with an average difference of 7%. Although superior in recording the information sought and creating mathematical models, female students showed lower ability in solving mathematical models systematically and providing correct answers compared to male students. Meanwhile, in recording known information, both groups showed equal ability.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an educational game based on Temanggung local wisdom called Game Genially Bang Sindoro, Bang Sumbing, Tembakau Temanggungan (Gage Bangbangtut) as a learning medium to instill politeness in elementary school students. This game is designed by incorporating local cultural values relevant to the Temanggung community’s daily lives, so that students can learn to speak politely through contexts close to their environment. Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model was applied as the research design to develop Gage Bangbangtut. The Gage Bangbangtut feature is designed with the Genially platform and can be installed on Windows. The content of Gage Bangbangtut contains the legend of Sindoro, Sumbing, and Temanggung Tobacco, Temanggung local wisdom (Names of Cultural Arts, Culinary Names, and District Names in Temanggung) in the form of games for students to play, and Temanggung’s distinctive language with two languages, namely Javanese and Indonesian, for grade 4 of the Islamic elementary school. The feasibility test results indicate that the mean score from game media expert validators is 0,97 (very high validity), from local wisdom expert validators is 0,68 (high validity), and from language politeness expert validators is 1,00 (very high validity). In addition, the results of the Gage Bangbangtut trial received a positive response from teachers and students and proved effective in improving the understanding of grade IV students about politeness in Indonesian language.

Abstract

The phenomenon of child marriage dispensation in Indonesia remains a serious issue with implications for child protection, education, reproductive health, and social welfare. This study examines the urgency of sakinah family education in preventing and reducing the practice of marriage dispensation, with a particular focus on the Temanggung Religious Court Decision Number : 103/Pdt.P/2025/PA.Tmg. The research employs a normative juridical method with a case study approach, in which the primary data consists of the official copy of the court ruling, supported by relevant regulations such as Law Number 16 of 2019, the Compilation of Islamic Law, and Supreme Court Regulation Number 5 of 2019. The findings reveal that the judge granted the dispensation on the grounds of an urgent circumstance, namely the out-of-wedlock pregnancy of the prospective bride. However, this decision presents a dilemma as it conflicts with the principle of child protection. The article emphasizes that sakinah family education which highlights the strengthening of religious values, morality, and social responsibility within the family serves as an effective preventive instrument to reduce the prevalence of child marriage dispensation.

Abstract

This study examines the learning materials of the four major schools of Islamic jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafiʿi, and Hanbali) in comparison with the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in Indonesia regarding the validity of a fāsiq guardian (wali fāsiq) in marriage. The issue of guardianship in marriage holds a central position within Islamic family law because the presence of a guardian (wali) constitutes one of the legal pillars (arkān) of marriage. The problem arises when the appointed guardian is in a state of fisq—known for committing major sins, persistently engaging in disobedience, or lacking moral integrity. This condition creates a juridical and theological debate among classical jurists concerning whether such a guardian retains legal authority or is disqualified. Using a normative-juridical and comparative approach, this research analyzes primary classical sources of fiqh, modern scholarly contributions, and statutory frameworks. Data were collected through a library study of authoritative fiqh texts, scholarly journals, and the Compilation of Islamic Law. The study finds that the Hanafi school tends to permit the wali fāsiq to exercise guardianship, emphasizing the preservation of marriage validity. Conversely, the Maliki, Shafiʿi, and Hanbali schools generally reject the authority of a fāsiq guardian, grounding their argument on moral integrity (ʿadālah) as a prerequisite for guardianship. The KHI aligns more closely with the Shafiʿi perspective, emphasizing the moral qualifications of the guardian to ensure justice, harmony, and protection of women’s rights in marriage contracts. The findings highlight the significance of integrating classical jurisprudence with the socio-legal context of Indonesia. By aligning statutory regulations with ethical principles derived from the Shafiʿi tradition, the KHI strengthens legal certainty and moral accountability in family law. This research contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of Islamic family law in Indonesia, offering insights for judges, legal practitioners, and Islamic scholars in addressing contemporary marital issues.

Abstract

This study meticulously analyzes the multifaceted issue of Domestic Violence (KDRT) in Magelang Regency, focusing on its root causes, the efficacy of legal resolutions, and the pivotal role of Islamic values. Findings indicate that KDRT is primarily driven by gender role imbalance, economic pressures, and dysfunctional communication, further exacerbated by ingrained patriarchal perceptions. Legal recourse predominantly follows litigation pathways, which are frequently hampered by protracted processes and social stigma, while the restorative justice approach remains sub-optimally and unsystematically implemented. Despite the theoretical relevance of Law No. 23 of 2004 and the principles of Islamic family law, the practical internalization of values such as justice, mutual consultation (musyawarah), and harmonious cohabitation (mu’asyarah bil ma’ruf) within Muslim families in Magelang is notably underdeveloped. This research highlights a significant disparity between the existing legal framework and its practical application. Consequently, the study advocates for multi-structural interventions, including the reinforcement of pre-marital education grounded in Islamic principles, professional family mediation services, and the active engagement of religious leaders. The ultimate objective is to foster a just, peaceful, and transformative approach to KDRT resolution, underpinned by the objectives of Islamic law (maqāshid al-syarī‘ah), thereby cultivating harmonious and violence-free families.
