Abstract

Waqf is one of the important economic instruments in Islam. Waqf is known as an endowment consist of donating a building, a sum of money or plot of land for charitable purposes. Various relevant aspects with  the field of waqf have been studied and debated by scholars in the area of socio-political studies, economic, accounting as well as waqf information management system development. Current research findings have shown few glaring issues in terms of the difficulty to distribute waqf benefits caused by incomplete file information, transparency of waqf documentation, lack of detailed information about waqf assets and the requirements to provide timely and sufficient information to the related stakeholders. Thus, this study explores conceptual model of integrated success factors of Waqf information management system from few literature analysis. The conceptual success model that consists of activities, relationships, relative advantage, compatability, triability, image, visibility, result demonstrability, voluntariness, complexity and trust have been used to demonstrate the Islamic and technology concepts of waqf information system.  Thorough review from several research works will help to understand the gaps in the information system management related to the state waqf agencies in Malaysia. The findings of the above issues prove on the need to identify the success factors of waqf information system management thus, helps to ensure the success development of the system.  The findings should be of great interest to both researchers and practitioners.

Abstract

Crowdsourcing has been known as developing industry that able to be used as a platform to get more income and provide opportunity for busineses to conduct their operation in more innovative ways.  Crowdsourcing has become an effective way for the companies to offer work opportunity for crowd outside organization to apply their abilities and skills, and receive more money.  Under the Malaysian government initiatives called Digital economy, various crowdsourcing efforts and programs have been introduced to catch up with the global development.   The ecosystem of crowdsourcing which consists of job provider, platform, micro worker and industry is considered still in a formative stage.  Thus, the integration of all these components is not fully discovered and understood yet which, can cause confusion among the crowdsourcing industry players.   In order to understand the complex integration of multi perspective micro sourcing ecosystem, the components and its significance priority level need to be identified. In this study, the components that involved in crowdsourcing ecosystem were identified and ranked using analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method. The results can be later used by crowdsourcing industry players to plan more proper crowd sourcing strategic development  in Malaysia.

Abstract

Crowdfunding allows entrepreneurs raise fund to help subsidizing their project. In other country, crowdfunding platform has become famous. In the contrary, it is yet to be trend in Malaysia. Financing using internet still irrelevant among Malaysian citizen. Without a proper guideline and strong crowdfunding platform based in Malaysia as a benchmark, it is hard to convince entrepreneurs and funders to consider crowdfunding as an option to fund a project. This research thus proposed business model canvas which can be applied by the crowdfunding platform organizations to manage their business and operation more efficiently. Case study method has been employed with two techniques of data collection: interview and document review. Two crowdfunding platforms based in Malaysia participated in the case study. The findings show that both crowdfunding platforms have fundamental business model elements that made of a solid foundation as a crowdfunding platform. These results offer insight into crowdfunding environment and how it links to another necessary part of business for it to function as a successful business. Nine building blocks fits well in the crowdfunding platform business model elements namely partner network, core competency, key resources, value proposition, customer relationship, distribution channel, customer segments, cost structure and revenue stream. Interestingly, the findings revealed another imperative element that should be part of the canvas: risk management.

Abstract

Managing the multiple services of the leased line at the same location is quite critical especially when the resource become highly utilized. Bundling the several network resource components into a one box by simplifying the multiple networks to a single network can help to reduce the utilization of network resources. This paper presents a study on optimiziation of leased line distribution at the EDGE of Local Access Network via WAN convergence network. In this study, a WAN Convergence Network is designed which intends to use only a single leased line network in a location rather than multiple leased lines. It is using a simple concept of SDH structured which channelized the time slots and control the transmission line. The time slots will be relocated from the multiple leased lines into a WAN Convergence Network and it will be de-multiplexed through the Data Circuit Terminating Equipment (DCE) at the customer premises. The WAN Convergence Network design starts from the Digital Data Network (DDN) until the DCE which includes the Local Access Network. This approach will be able to save the network resource especially the time slots, cable port, DCE and consequently avoid adding new network infrastructure. This research will result to the new network design which offer multiple leased line networks at the customer end by using only one dedicated leased line network namely WAN Convergence Network.
