Abstract

The design method of orthogonal test is commonly used in engineering test. It is very effective when many factors’ influences on one test .Orthogonal table experimental design is necessary to simplify the test procedure, to reduce the number of tests, and to improve test efficiency. By the orthogonal test, a level of each factor can be chosen to form the optimal production conditions. But in the current orthogonal experiment data analysis, we always adopt the manual calculation, and we will make big errors when we have a complex calculation. Therefore we consider the development by using computer programming of c++ computer Builder to solve this problem. As long as the programming completed, the test data can be input to calculation, analysis, and the visual interface, more intuitively and simply. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i8.3102

Abstract

Being with many advantages such as environmental protection, controllable, facilitate measurement etc, electric heating has been promoted actively in some places .For public buildings with huge energy consumption, electric heating intelligent controlling may be the key to achieve energy conservation. In this paper, visual distributed control system (DCS) was presented in electric heating of the public buildings. In this control system, a PC was used as the host, and RS232/485 interface converter was used as serial interface of mutual conversion .Through industrial standard RS485 bus with high reliability and low cost which was the link between the host and many sets of thermostat, a one-to-many communication network was formed. The MCU of the thermostats was ATMega8 microcontroller. Meanwhile, DS18B20 integrated temperature probe was used in temperature sensor .Through the DCS test online,it met the need of each individual heating unit. Therefore, unnecessary heat waste was reduced, heating costs were saved. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i6.2660

Abstract

Four-ball tester is a device which is used to evaluate the resistance of extreme pressure grease performance and wear resistance with simple structure, less fuel consumption and low cost. It has been widely used in Lubricants research. In this paper, the principle and testing equipment of four-ball tester are introduced. At the same time, some shortcomings such as inconvenient load mechanism and inaccurate measurements are presented. Friction testing and recording system is improved on the basic of the previous system to avoid the defects. Amplification ratio of the friction test result increases significantly.  To improve precision and convenience for data storing, analysis and comparison, data acquisition system is established based on LabVIEW.
