Abstract

This study will begin by discussing the history of the Qur?an, the Qur?an as a revelation, the history of the writing of the Qur?an and the content of the discussion of the Qur?an. By describing what the initial scriptures were written about and when the general codification of the Koran was agreed upon became the main global reference, it could be understood by educated people, especially the laity. As we already know that the Koran in general is initially a complex thing, meaning that the process of occurrence requires stages that are not instantaneous. Various concepts related to the scriptures, such as ?God, Angels, Revelations, Prophets,? are often understood as taken forgranted. Likewise the process of revelation of the Qur?an, such as narration, writing, gathering and opening, is often not a concern. This paper intends to discuss the Qur?an from a Historical-Theological perspective. Other things accepted in dogma, such as God's word, verse structure, spelling, and structure of the text, are questioned again by positioning in the historical context at the time the revelation was revealed and then written. The emphasis of this paper is on the process of sacralization of the Koran having a long journey and intersecting with the historical events of the Muslims between the aural and the codification of ?Uthm?n?. Briefly, outlining the history of revelation and writing of the Koran becomes a ?holy book? for religious communities. The process of sacralization of the "holy book" cannot be separated from the increasingly mature written tradition of human life that is complex. But does not deny the tradition of previous writings, such as the Bible or books of the Jews and Christians. Because the tradition of writing al-Qur?an is imitating from previous books. Is that right?.

Abstract

This article will decipher a re-reading of the Qur’anic verses on gender equality that arestill understood by gender bias, especially women bias. The authors see that there are still many behaviors and thoughts that lead to gender bias, especially women bias. The re-readings of Islamic doctrines, especially those of the Qur’an and ḥadīth, are important as a counterweight to gender biased understandings, especially those those found in classical religious texts. The conclusions of this article emphasize that Islam recognizes gender equality between men and women, especially in termsof role and public domain. Men and women have the same opportunity and potential as God’s representatives (khalifatullāh) of the earth who govern and manage the earth’s resources. Only spiritual aspects (piety) distinguish them as human beings in the presence of Allah swt.

Abstract

Abstract. Basically, the study of sectarianism refers to the problem of understanding within a certain group, school, or belief. However, in its development this term has developed and is almost always associated with the study of the fanaticism of the madzhab (al-ta’asshubiyyah) and political partisans (al-hizbiyyah). Therefore, sectarianism as an ideology or ism often creates negative-destructive consequences, especially by creating a heroic attitude in defending the group as well as opposing other groups who are not in the same direction. In fact, not infrequently it creates radical attitudes on other parties in the name of the truth (read: religion) which they believe. This paper discusses sectarianism in Islam by using "multiple objects"; analysis of the Khawarij group as a portrait of classical sectarianism that had occurred in the early days of Islam as well as pulling it back to the present by analyzing the Majlis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI) as a portrait of sectarianism that occurred in Indonesia in a modern context.. Abstrak. Pada dasarnya, kajian tentang sektarianisme merujuk pada persoalan sempalan paham dalam sebuah golongan, mazhab, maupun kepercayaan tertentu. Namun dalam perkembangannya istilah ini berkembang dan hampir selalu dikaitkan dengan kajian fanatisme madzhab (al-ta’asshubiyyah) dan partisan politik (al-hizbiyyah). Karena itu, sektarianisme sebagai sebuah paham atau isme seringkali memunculkan konsekuensi-konsekuensi negatif-destruktif terutama dengan memunculkan sikap heroik dalam membela kelompoknya sekaligus pertentangan kepada kelompok lain yang tidak searah. Bahkan tak jarang menimbulkan sikap-sikap radikal pada pihak lain atas nama kebenaran (baca: agama) yang diyakininya. Tulisan ini membahas tentang sektarianisme  dalam Islam dengan menggunakan “objek ganda”; analisa pada kelompok Khawarij sebagai potret sektarianisme klasik yang pernah terjadi pada masa-masa awal Islam sekaligus menariknya ke masa kini dengan menganalisa kelompok Majlis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI) sebagai potret sektarianisme yang terjadi di Indonesia pada masa modern.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang kesalehan sosial sebagai paktik keagamaan di lingkungan pesantren tradisional. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah hasil wawancara dengan informan dan literatur-literatur yang relevan dengan penelitian, baik buku, artikel dan lain sebagainya. Adapun objek penelitian ini adalah santriwati Ponpes Assalafiyyah II Sukabumi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi kesalehan sosial komunitas santri di Ponpes Assalafiyyah II Sukabumi merupakan praktik dan perilaku keberagamaan yang muncul secara rasional dan terstruktur.

Abstract

YouTube is one of the most visited platforms globally. Its position is second only to Google and has a major role in the dissemination of information on Islamic philosophy. One notable YouTube channel serving as a resource is Fahruddin Faiz at the Ngaji Philosophy channel. This endeavor takes place weekly on Wednesday evenings at the General Sudirman Mosque, Yogyakarta. The recorded sessions are subsequently shared on the MJS and Media Kontji YouTube channels. The focus of this study is on episode 37 on the MJS YouTube or 38 on the Media Koentji, which delves into the Ngaji Philosophy: Pre-Discourse-Islamic Philosophy. The research findings suggest that the YouTube channel of Ngaji Philosophy has significantly impacted the understanding of Islamic philosophy among students in Indonesian Islamic Universities. These results stem from a survey involving 114 students across five Islamic Theology and Philosophy (ITP) study programs in Indonesia. However, there is an inconsistency in defining Islamic philosophy and historical facts. The implication is the blurring of the meaning of Islamic philosophy, which has an impact on the scope and study. The definition used is not by the standards for making definitions, and the definitions conveyed by muslim philosophers. While historically, Faiz’s statement is contradictory and incoherent with the historical works of Islamic philosophy. The approach used in this study is critical analysis and cross-reference techniques. This method functions, first, as complementary data for the explanation and, second, as validation and evidence that Faiz’s definition and explanation are incoherent.

Abstract

Kerusakan lingkungan isu global yang terus mengundang perhatian berbagai kalangan, termasuk agama-agama besar seperti Islam dan Katolik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pandangan Islam terhadap kerusakan lingkungan dan pandangan Katolik terhadap kerusakan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif melalui studi literasi. Kerusakan lingkungan dianggap bertentangan dengan prinsip kepemimpinan yang diberikan Allah, dan ayat seperti QS Ar-Rum/30:41 mengingatkan tanggung jawab manusia terhadap keberlanjutan ekologis. Dalam Katolik, pengelolaan lingkungan terkait erat dengan doktrin inkarnasi Kristus, yang menjadikan lingkungan sebagai bagian integral dari iman. Gereja Katolik menekankan tanggung jawab sosial dan spiritual dalam perlindungan lingkungan, seperti tercermin dalam ensiklik Laudato Si' oleh Paus Fransiskus, yang menghubungkan ekologi dengan keadilan sosial global. Kerusakan lingkungan menjelaskan bahwa degradasi ekosistem terjadi akibat aktivitas manusia yang tidak berkelanjutan, mengakibatkan hilangnya keseimbangan alam dan berpotensi merusak kehidupan di bumi.
