Abstract

To aim at the puzzles on faults location in distribution grids, the paper analyzed the distributing characteristics of transient zero-mode currents as the faults occurred, with the aid of correlation theory, a new fault circuit-selection and fault-location method was proposed based on transient zero model current for power distribution grid faults. The method is based on such a fact that the RMS was maximum of fault line transient zero-mode current, and the inner products between it and other line transient zero-mode current were less than zero, in addition, the transient zero-model currents at two sides of the fault point possessed opposite polarity and diverse waveform, and as well as small correlation coefficient closer to zero. In the end, the simulation results show that the proposed method on circuit-selection and fault-location for power distribution grids fault based on transient zero- mode current is correct and effective, and not affected by voltage epoch angle, and grounding resistance, and as well as neutral-point grounding modes. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i5.1289

Abstract

Rolling bearing is an important part in mechanical system and faults occur frequently with vibration noise. Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is a tool for nonlinear and non-stationary signals analysis. However, the major drawbacks of EMD is mode mixing problem, ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) provides a new tool for signal analysis, and it is an improved technique of EMD. In order to alleviate the mode mixing problem and choose useful IMFs, a method called EEMD and distributing fitting testing is proposed in this paper, and it is used in rolling bearing fault diagnosis. Firstly, using it for rolling bearing fault diagnosis, the fault signal is decomposed by EEMD. Then applying distributing fitting testing to choose components with truly physical meaning and the de-noised signal can be obtained. Finally, utilizing envelope spectrum to distinguish different faults. The results demonstrate the proposed method can sift useful IMFs and diagnose faults effectively, such as inner race fault, outer race fault. The advantage of the proposed method is suitable for rolling bearing diagnosis. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i1.2928

Abstract

Based on analysis on reliability and security on three types of two-cell dynamic redundant systems which has been widely applied in modern railway signal system, whose isomorphic Markov model was established in this paper. During modeling several important factors, including common-cause failure, coverage of diagnostic systems, online maintainability, and periodic inspection maintenance, and as well as many failure modes, were considered, which made the established model more credible. Through analysis and calculation on reliability and security indexes of the three types of two-module dynamic redundant structures, the paper acquires a significant conclusion, i.e., the safety and reliability of the kind of structure possesses an upper limit, and can not be inordinately improved through the hardware and software comparison methods under the failure and repairing rate fixed. Finally, the paper performs the simulation investigations, and compares the calculation results of the three redundant systems, and analysis each advantages and disadvantages, and gives out each application scope, which provides a theoretical technical support for the railway signal equipments selection. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i5.2492
