Abstract

Based on interaction theory, classroom interaction between teacher and students is very important in supporting students’ achievement. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to find out how the classroom interaction between English teacher and high achiever students. The method of this research is qualitative and the subjects of research were the two high achiever students of XI IPS 2 classroom. The results of this research show that the collaborative learning method was applied by the teacher in the teaching learning process. During the implementation the method the teacher teaches the students by giving a topic to be discussed and the teacher facilitates the students by allowing the use all media which relates to topics such as mobile phones, books, internet accessing to discuss the topics given. The data shows that it creates the good classroom atmosphere so all students looked motivated and confidence. However high achiever students looked more active answering the questions and perform in front of the class

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in cognitive learning outcomes (in the form of pre-test and post-test scores) of students in class VII as experimental class at SLB Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu, by providing treatment using the Headsprout Early Reading Program (HERP). This type of research is Pre-Experimental with Quantitative approach. The population is seventh grade students of SLB Negeri 5 Kota Bengkulu in the academic year 2020/2021 with 6 students were taken as samples. Research data were collected through Pre-test and Post-test and documentation. The results showed a significant change in the experimental class with an average value of post-test 76.1 while in the score pre-test an average value of 56.1. The post-test results show that the Headsprout Early Reading program can improve students' Reading Comprehension. Thus, the Headsprout Early Reading Program (HERP)  can be one of effective program to increase students‟ reading comprehension specially with Intellectual Disability.

Abstract

Reading is a process to to get both the information and knowledge from written sources or text. To make it easiers there are some applicable strategies. Based  on some related literatures, KWL can be implemented in teaching reading for EFL learners in class room with varied   reading skill levels. Hence this strategy assumed is appropriate use in Indonesian school context. This reasearch is intended to investigate how effective the strategy in helping leraners to enhanch their ability in reading. The samples of this study were the second year students of SMAN 07 South Bengkulu in 2019. The research design use is experimental study with expemental and control class. From the result of the study the data showed that the students taught with KWL achieved better reading comprehension than those were not taught with the strategy.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out whether there is a correlation between students’ frequency of using YouTube content and speaking skill at 4th semester of English Department of IAIN Bengkulu. This study was conducted in correlational research which involved 21 students. A questionnaire was used to obtain students’ frequency of using YouTube content and test was employed to obtain students’ speaking skill. Both data were calculated using Pearson Product Moment Formula and SPSS Program. The result of this study showed that the coefficient correlation (rcount) was higher than the rtable (0,852 > 0,433). It can be said that there is a significant correlation between students’ frequency of using YouTube content and their speaking skill at 4th semester of English Department of IAIN Bengkulu. The interpretation of correlation coefficient 0,852 was high correlation. The hypothesis accepted in this research was alternative hypothesis (Ha), whereas the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. In brief, it could be drawn that students’ frequency of using YouTube was correlated with their speaking skill.

Abstract

AbstractTheses and journals are several kinds of writing which contain abstract. Thesis is used in educational area, especially in university, as a requirement in completing an academic degree. As one of the most important thesis part is called abstract. The use of abstract is essential in some scientific works, online research, directory, seminar, and call paper. In IAIN Bengkulu, students are obliged to write an abstract as an integral part of their theses. Because of its importance, abstract must be written using the correct form and following the rule of abstracting.This study used descriptive qualitative research. It describes how the students write an abstract based on the rule. As a result, the researcher found some errors on the students’ abstract in terms of organization, content, and language. In addition, the researcher found many grammatical errors. Students also tended to make mistake related to the standard form of abstract. Thus, the researcher knows that most of students’ abstracts still do not follow the rule of composing their abstract.
