Abstract

Dry system delinter machine designed by Indonesian Agency for Agriculture Research and Development, Serpong, Indonesia in cooperation with Indonesian Tobacco and Fiber Crops Research Institute, Malang, Indonesia has managed to assemble a seed processing equipment delinter dry system using nitric acid. The advantages of this tool are : the process is shorter (only 2-3 hours), no sunlight compared to wet systems (sulfuric acid) which will take approximately 2-3 days and does not pollute soil and water environments. But the tool still has a weakness, where the machine is not used anymore because delinter dimensions of the machine is too big. In addition there are the seeds of cotton delinted crust layer due to heating at the contact of nitric acid vapor to cotton seeds  rudimentary. It is therefore necessary modifications to the engine of delinter the dry system. The results have been obtained by modification of the engine delinter dry system that is able to clean the rest of cotton with good results. It has also  improved capacity of 120 k /h to 150 kg/hour. Nitric acid vapor has been wetting the rest can be directed to the distillation, so as not to endanger the operator. Nitric acid requirements prior to 1 L to 120 kg of seed cotton, can be saved to 0.9 L for 150 kg of seed cotton. Engine capacity can be increased of 25% and the nitric acid need to save as much as 35%.Keywords: delinter dry systems, cotton, nitric acid vapor

Abstract

Energy crisis is a problem that still has not been fully resolved. Kerosene as one of the main source of energy for daily cooking is relatively expensive. It can cost up to Rp. 8000,-/L. Although energy conversion from kerosene to LPG has been carried out by the government of Indonesia, but some users still prefer kerosene for security reasons. Until now, pressure stove or kerosene-fueled stoves commonly called tube type are still used by users to fry fried foods. By modifying mainly on the part of the wind shield tube it is spected that presure stove tube type can be used bio oil. Some bio-oil which come from jatropha curcas, cottonseed oil and kapok oil have potential to be used as bio fuel. The aim of the research and modification was to get pressure stoves prototype by using bio-oil by modification of pressure stoves as a substition of kerosene pressure stoves. The result of modification and engineering of pressure stoves, could be got some prototypes pressure stoves that was pressure stove tube type. The result performance test is done using jatropha oil as follows : fuel consumption 1250 mL/ hour; pre-heating 17 minutes; boiling time of 2 litre of water 5 minutes; the noise levels was 88.2 dB and the flame colour was reddish blue. Keywords: modification, pressure stove, Jatropha curcas, fuel oil.

Abstract

The quality of corn is essential to determine whether the corn is still suitable for consumption and what type of corn it is. Corn is one type of vegetable that is indispensable for the nutritional needs of the Indonesian people today and is a mixture of other essential ingredients. Corn is rich in fiber, which is good for improving digestion and overcoming constipation, controlling blood sugar levels, maintaining heart health, overcoming depression, maintaining eye health, and preventing diverticulitis. In this research, image recognition is used to determine and detect the content of aflatoxin, which is one type of abnormality or disorder in corn. This affects the quality of corn, whether corn is suitable for human consumption, and what impact aflatoxin has on the human body. on testing using parameters Non UV image, SGW Filter Image θ = 0, 90, 180 and 270, and The resulting SGW image with the number of orientations N = 4, θ = θ + pi/N, and θ = θ + 2*pi/N, The aflatoxin content in humans can cause carcinogenic or liver cancer and acute necrosis, cirrhosis, and carcinoma in the animal liver.

Abstract

The districts of Jember, Bojonegoro, and Lamongan are home to Virginia tobacco shops. In Bojonegoro Regency, there are 11,522 ha and 11,517 ha of tobacco land, while there are 6697 ha and 6683 ha in Lamongan Regency. The quality of tobacco is lowered by excessive fertilization, the use of impure varieties, interplanting with chilies, and the neglectful pruning of shoots (Tirtosastro S and Taufik I, 2022). Inorganic fertilizers used in excess will deteriorate unhealthful soil (Arifin Z and Lolita ES, 2020). The issue of excessive chlorine fertilizer use results in a decrease in tobacco quality (low burning power, dull color). The Bojonegoro and Lamongan regions have lost many tobacco product industries as a result of excessive chlorine fertilizer restrictions on tobacco plants. Based on the aforementioned issues, a survey study on fertilization methods for Virginia farmers in the Bojonegoro and Lamongan Regencies is required. The goal of this study was to ascertain how fertilizers were applied by farmers and to measure the soil's and tobacco leaves' chlorine contents. The fertilization process is carried out with an approach to the Internet of Things which is necessary for fertilization automation and more optimal results.
