Abstract

This research aimed at finding out: (1) the type of grammatical error by using categories of surface strategy taxonomy written by the fifth semester students in their academic essays; and (2) the most frequent type of grammatical error by using categories of surface strategy taxonomy written by the fifth semester students in their academic essays at one of state universities in Palembang. The method of this research was a descriptive quantitative method. The data were collected from 34 essays that were written by the students. The researchers used students’ writing sheets as the instrument. In this case, all types of grammatical errors were classified and described based on the taxonomy of grammatical errors regarding omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. In analyzing students’ errors, the procedure of error analysis was applied. They were identification, description, and explanation. Based on the result of the analysis, there were 257 grammatical errors found in the students’ argumentative essay. It was found that the students made 110 (42.80%) errors of omission, 72 (28.01%) errors of addition, 70 (27.23%) errors of misformation, and 5 errors (1.94%) of misordering. Thus, it can be concluded that omission error was the highest, while error in misordering was the lowest.

Abstract

Current technological developments require us to be able to search for information well. This research examines the information literacy ability of students. This research aims to determine the level of information literacy skills of students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Faculty of Culture and Humanities in 2020-2021. This type of research is descriptive using a quantitative approach. Documentation and questionnaires were data collection techniques. Validity and reliability were tested using the Cronbach's Alpha technique with the help of IBM SPSS 23. The sampling technique used in this research was probability sampling limited by the Slovin formula, with a sample size of 217 students. The information literacy model used in this research is the Colorado information literacy guide model. The results of the study showed that, there are 9 indicators in the Colorado literacy guide model, namely determining information needs, information search strategies, obtaining information, analyzing information, processing information, organizing information, information action and evaluation. The research results also showed that the score values for all indicators calculated based on calculations using the Grand mean formula was in the interval 3.25-4.00. meaning that the level of information literacy skills of students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Faculty of Adab and Humanities in 2020-2021 is in the very good category. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran fasilitas perpustakaan dalam meningkatkan minat kunjung mahasiswa di Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang. Dalam era digital, perpustakaan menghadapi tantangan besar dalam menarik mahasiswa untuk memanfaatkan fasilitas yang ada. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang melibatkan mahasiswa sebagai responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang berfokus pada persepsi mahasiswa terhadap fasilitas perpustakaan, seperti ruang baca, akses internet, koleksi buku, ruang diskusi, dan layanan pustakawan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fasilitas perpustakaan memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap minat kunjung mahasiswa. Ruang baca yang nyaman dan tenang, akses internet yang cepat, serta koleksi buku yang lengkap merupakan faktor utama yang mendorong mahasiswa untuk lebih sering mengunjungi perpustakaan. Selain itu, layanan pustakawan yang proaktif dan fasilitas ruang diskusi juga berperan penting dalam meningkatkan daya tarik perpustakaan. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa perpustakaan yang mampu menyediakan fasilitas yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan preferensi mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan frekuensi kunjungan dan partisipasi mahasiswa dalam kegiatan akademik di perpustakaan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kualitas fasilitas perpustakaan berperan penting dalam membentuk pengalaman positif mahasiswa dan meningkatkan minat kunjung mereka. Oleh karena itu, perpustakaan Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang disarankan untuk terus meningkatkan dan mengadaptasi fasilitasnya sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi dan kebutuhan mahasiswa guna mempertahankan relevansinya sebagai pusat pembelajaran di lingkungan akademik.
