Abstract

Abstrak Naskah ini menjelaskan suatu kasus pada sebuah perusahaan yang memroduksi komponen press. Pada proses drawing untuk sebuah komponen, peletakan bahan baku kedalam area kerja mesin press dilakukan secara manual. Dengan waktu siklus tujuh detik untuk tiap pengulangan proses press; selain beresiko terjadi kecelakaan kerja, juga terkadang -karena faktor kelelahan- operator tidak sempat meletakkan bahan baku sehingga siklus tersebut beroperasi tanpa luaran produk dan target produksi tidak tercapai. Karena itu suatu Feeder Attachment didesain, dibuat dan diaplikasikan. Alat ini menggunakan lengan pneumatik untuk mendorong bahan baku kedalam area kerja mesin press secara otomatis, dikombinasikan dengan penggunaan sensor yang mengikuti gerak langkah mesin press. Meskipun tidak mengubah waktu siklus secara keseluruhan, namun penggunaan feeder ini bisa mengurangi satu orang operator, operasi jauh lebih aman dan target produksi lebih terjamin untuk tercapai. Abstract

Abstract. Entrepreneurship is a characteristic that can be observed in the actions of a person or institution. Entrepreneurship includes a range of behaviors, skills and traits that support the development of innovation and creativity. Someone who always works better and is different from others, so that person is an entrepreneur. This research is a preliminary research that aims to produce the profile of entrepreneurial competence of Polman students in Bandung. From the profile of entrepreneurial competence, students are expected to formulate patterns of entrepreneurship development in Polman Bandung. The research method used is descriptive method, with ex post facto research type and survey data collection method through questionnaire. The instrument used in this study was adapted from the Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PEC) developed by McClelland with McBer & Co. The results of the study were processed with descriptive analysis statistics. The conclusion of the study shows that the profile dimensions of entrepreneurial competence and the average total score of Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PEC) Polman Bandung students are categorized as “medium” criteria, which means that each individual has competence in entrepreneurship, although the level still needs to be improved.

Abstract

Runner is a part of channel systems that flows the molten plastics from the sprue to the gate with a specified layout. The selection of runner shapes are according to the design of the mold and the product. Usually, the diameter of half round runner is calculated by the existing empirical formula. Predictably, the dimension of the runner is one of the factors that will be influencing the injection process and the resulting product. The objectives of experiment are to know how big the runner diameter that will be influencing the taken response and to prove that the existing empirical formula for calculating the diameter of runner is efficient. The experiment is designed by Taguchi method using Minitab applications to generate data of the influences of the runner diameter. The responses of this experiment are cycle time and product mass. The experiment is conducted by using the door handle products with Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene as known as ABS material. Besides diameter of runner, there are also other factors from parameters of injection process to be considered, they are nozzle temperature and injection pressure. In reference to Taguchi method, the authors took nine times experiment with three replications or repetitions for each data of experiment. The data from experiment were analyzed and calculated by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using Minitab applications to generate the results of experiment. As a result, the diameter of the runner had impact on the responses taken, either to cycle time and product mass as well. In conclusion, the runner diameter was ranked as the most influential compared to nozzle temperature and injection pressure

Abstract

Ragum-125 Polman, is one among other different products produced by Polman Bandung which functions as a clamping device. The Ragum-125 Polman is assembled from several components where the fixed jaw and moving jaw are its main components. For the time being, the production process of the Ragum-125 Polman, especially the fixed and moving jaws, still uses many conventional machines tools and requires many jigs (locating devices) and fixtures (fixing devices). Consequently, the processing time is long. The production process requires fourteen (14) set-ups and many stages of the process from one machine to other machines, which is prone to process errors. CNC machine tools can do many machining operations in a single set-up and can minimize process errors because their movements are numerically controlled. However, to take advantage of CNC machine tools, good set-up planning is needed so that the process can be conducted according to the specifications. This research discusses the planning set-up and choosing the machine tools for machining the fixed and moving jaw of Ragum-125 Polman. It consists of four stages they are, grouping the feature according to the tool approach direction (TAD), selection the set-up datum, set-up formation, and determination the machine tools and sorting the machining operation in every set-up. The result from this research produced 19 rules for guidance the set-up planning processes and yield 2 set-ups for fix jaw and 1 set-up for moving jaw with Mitsubishi CNC Horizontal Milling Machine H4Bn and the drilling machine lodiflex Caser F40 C5 as the machine tools which reduce the number of set-ups from 14 set-up to 3 set-up in machining processes of fix jaws and moving jaws of Ragum-125 Polman.
