This study originated from the reality on the SMA 14 Padang that activity and student learning outcomes is low, because students tend to accept and memorize lessons without any understanding of the material being taught, it can be seen when students are given a question, the student is not able to answer properly and correctly without textbooks. One way to overcome this is to apply such models TANDUR. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the results of studying sociology student TANDUR model is better than the results of studying sociology students taught with conventional teaching. This type of research is experimental. The population in this study was a class X SMA 14 and who is now gone up to class XI is made up of 9 classes. Samples were taken by random sampling, a class XI IPS 4 was chosen as the experimental class, a class XI IPS 2 was selected as the control class. The instrument used to collect data from the study of sociology is a test. The form of the test used was a multiple-choice test with reliability is r_11 = 0.879. Based on the analysis results can be seen from the experimental class average is 80.7 higher than the control class that performed the data analysis obtained 69.46 t_hitung = 2.537 greater than t_tabel = 1.68. Thus, it can be concluded that the results of studying sociology using TANDUR models increased. Efforts are being made of teachers in improving learning outcomes, namely the need for creativity sociology student teacher in the learning process, one of which is through the application of the model TANDUR.
