Abstract

PT Damai Sejahtera Utama is a manufacturing company engaged in timber production. The company is processing wood sticks (logs) into plywood. The purpose of this research is to find the most efficient production patterns with the pattern approach 3 (three) of production, namely: Wavy production patterns, production patterns Constant, and Moderate production patterns. With this method is expected to determine the most appropriate production pattern with the condition of the company, so as to minimize Incremental costs that will occur. The results of this study indicate that by using corrugated production patterns can cause incremental cost of 3,330,267,500 IDR. For Constant production patterns can lead to costs amounting to 3,696,317,500 IDR whereas if the company uses pattern Moderate production costs to be incurred amounted to 3,289,417,500 IDR. From the results of this study showed that moderate production patterns have the smallest Incremental costs compared to the wavy or constant patterns of production.

Abstract

Research showed that during 1998 to 2006, the minimum inventory needs of national rice is less than the expected inventory needs of national rice. Inventory trend is almost decreasing because of the quantum transmission inventory is beyond over of inventory increasing internal nation to the inventory of national rice decreasing. Partially, internal inventory affects the positive income towards national rice inventory; rice import has no effect towards the inventory of national rice; rice transmission is affected towards national rice inventory. This thing shows that rice inventory controlling in Perum Bulog must pay attention to internal rice procurement circumstances. On the other hand, importing rice is only as complement and done if needed. The rice inventory has negative influence towards price in producer level. This shows that internal procurement procedure needs to be changed.

Abstract

This study examines the differential impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and Shariah compliance on brand value and stock returns across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia using a sample of 1,474 publicly listed Shariah-compliant firms. Using panel data regression, quantile-on-quantile regression, Granger causality, and FGLS methods, we find that ESG factors significantly enhance brand value and stock returns in Malaysia and Indonesia, with stronger effects than conventional stocks, especially under positive investor sentiment. However, in Saudi Arabia, ESG factors are insignificant, and Shariah compliance alone drives financial performance, indicating that alignment with Islamic principles is a prerequisite for market impact in this context. The quantile-on-quantile analysis further shows that ESG and Shariah compliance yield stronger effects at higher quantiles of brand value, benefiting firms with greater brand equity. These results validate the signaling theory, highlighting ESG and Shariah compliance as mechanisms to reduce information asymmetry and enhance investor confidence in Islamic financial markets. For policymakers, this study underscores the need for robust ESG and Shariah compliance standards, advocating transparent reporting to foster market trust and attract sustainable investment, particularly by advancing a Shariah-compliant green economy in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of machine learning models in capturing adaptive herding behavior in the U.S., Malaysia, and Indonesia. Utilizing data from January 2010 to December 2023, the study incorporates market sentiment (Thomson Reuters MarketPsych indices), news sentiment (Bloomberg sentiment analysis), and investor happiness measures (Hedonometer). The methodology employs both static and adaptive herding analyses using the CSAD approach, enhanced by real-time sentiment analysis and various machine learning models, including single- and multi-layer neural networks. The results indicate significant differences in herding behavior across the three markets, with machine learning models demonstrating superior performance in capturing herding behavior and faster normalization after major macroeconomic events than traditional methods. These findings highlight the potential of machine learning models to challenge the static assumptions of the efficient market hypothesis and provide insights for designing better trading algorithms by considering the impact of market sentiment, news sentiment, and investor happiness.
