Abstract

Shoreline is a very dynamic geomorphological feature and susceptible to changes caused by natural phenomena or human activities. Shoreline changes will have an impact on the management of coastal areas and threaten the sustainability of coastal resources. Monitoring of shoreline changes can be carried out by using statistical calculation analysis with statistical variables and physical variables. This paper aims to review and compare shoreline change research with case studies in Sri Lanka and Indonesia using the comparative study method through scientific literature review. The results of this study indicate that port construction is the most influential factor in shoreline changes in Sri Lanka, while in Indonesia it is influenced by several factors such as coastal construction, river estuaries, and seabed depth. Coastline changes in 2031 and 2041 for each country are predicted to experience erosion, abrasion and accretion. In terms of policy, changes to the coastline in Indonesia will affect the management of coastal areas, especially in terms of calculating the General Allocation Fund

Abstract

Majalengka Regency is one of the administrative areas in West Java Province which has a high population density of 1,096 people/km2. The large population density in this area results in a large amount of land conversion which can cause a decrease in the carrying capacity of land in Majalengka Regency. This study aims to analyze the land carrying capacity of each sub-district in the Majalengka Regency and analyze the efforts that can be made based on the physical characteristics of the region and the RTRW of the Majalengka Regency. The methods used are descriptive quantitative and spatial analysis in the evaluation of land suitability. The results of this study are that out of 26 sub-districts in Majalengka Regency, 18 sub-districts are included in the deficit category while 8 sub-districts are included in the surplus category. Efforts in the management of each region are different according to the characteristics of the local area and the direction of regional functions based on the RTRW.

Abstract

The construction of a dam generally aims to mitigate against floods, management of water availability, irrigation for agriculture, and also one of the tourism attractions. The construction of the dam has implications for land use change around the dam area which causes changes in land cover. The Gondang Dam is one of the government programs that began to be built in 2014 where the rehabilitation of the irrigation channels was completed in 2019 and has reached the maximum storage capacity in 2020. This study aims to analyze changes in agricultural and plantation land cover before and after the Gondang Dam was built using Imagery Satellites sourced from Google Earth are multitemporal with acquisition years 2013 and 2022. Land cover data was obtained through the on screen digitization method by producing 12 land cover classes and analyzed using the overlay method using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The overall accuracy test results for land cover data for 2013 and 2022 are 94.33% and 96.83%, respectively. The biggest change in land cover occurred in the plantation land cover class which experienced a decrease in area of 29.72 Ha
